PMC FB1i review

This popular floorstander holds its own against the competition

Deep and clean bass ; Well judged top end ; Competitive price

Hint of congestion

This fine all-round performer has firm, deep and clean bass, a slightly laid-back midband with little coloration bar a hint of congestion, and a sweet, well judged top end. It's competitively priced too

PMC FB1i review

These PMCs are great all-rounders. They have real long-term appeal

Fetching, well-finished speaker ; poised, articulate and amply punchy sound

Unwilling or unable to throw caution to the wind when necessary

The PMCs have an awful lot to recommend them. With a little more abandon to go with the rationality, they’d be pushing the leaders even harder

PMC monitors are made in Luton, Hertfordshire, and in addition to the home hi-fi, the professional monitor side of the bizz is absolutely enormous. Studio users include Stevie Wonder, Prince, Coldplay, Brian May - the list goes on and on. Just as...

Lucid, airy performance with a steely grip on all sorts of music including stupidly-high energy material. Bass characterisation well delivered across the range

Plain, old-school Brit hi-fi style conveys no visible excitement
