Philips' Fidelio SoundSphere docking system delivers sound to die for.

Luxurious sound quality, Gorgeous design, Built-in Wi-Fi and AirPlay

Tricky network setup with PC, No direct iPod connection, Easy to knock over

Philips Fidelio SoundSphere DS9800

First Look: The Fidelio range gets a new ruler. Long live the king.

There’s also an auxiliary 3.5mm input on the back of the main left speaker, which houses the SoundSphere’s electronic gubbins – the amplifier et al. This is very much a secondary input though, looking rather pauper-like against the proper ports that...

Philips Fidelio SoundSphere DS9800 review

Distinctive AirPlay speakers are a pretty persuasive proposition

Intriguing looks ; punchy, unified and nicely balanced sound via AirPlay

Lose composure when playing via a physical connection ; not the most detailed

As an alternative to, well, just about everything for your iPod, the Philips Fidelio DS9800s are a pretty persuasive proposition

Philips SoundSphere review

Philips' new SoundSphere is pretty pricey, but it's more than just a conventional speaker dock. Rather than a single dock unit, the SoundSphere consists of two separate stereo speakers. The egg-shaped base of each unit houses a woofer, with a separate...

That £699 price tag is steep, but the SoundSphere sounds great, and the fact that it provides a powerful set of stereo speakers means that you can use it as your main speaker system. Read more: http://www.macworld.co.uk/#ixzz23WLzl100

Preview: Philips latest high-end dock speaker systems

Both the D9 and the D9010 were overshadowed by the day\'s real star: the Fidelio SoundSphere DS9800. It won\'t be in the shops until next month, but the DS9800\'s speakers both look and sound extraordinary. The tweeters have been removed from the main...

Terrific sound; 100W output; AirPlay wireless capabilities

Very expensive; AirPlay setup is fiddly
