JBL Soundgear review: Neither speaker nor headphones, this product is a very odd one indeed. Good for hands-free calls, though.

Decent sound quality ; Well built ; Relatively light

Uncomfortable ; Weak battery life ; Too much noise bleed ; Not cheap

Ideal for calls but perhaps a little too specific and uncomfortable for most.

JBL Soundgear


The JBL Soundgear is a wearable Bluetooth speaker that delivers a solid audio experience, but it can occasionally distort on bass-heavy tracks.

Powerful, loud audio performance with crisp highs and rich lows. Solid stereo separation. Easy to operate.

Can distort on deep bass. Vibrations might annoy some wearers. Rigid build is awkward to place around neck at first.

The JBL Soundgear delivers a pleasant sound signature, albeit one that can't reproduce deep lows. The distortion is not an ever-present issue, but it does occur and that's enough to give us some pause. In the battle of wearable speakers between this...
