Harman/Kardon Esquire Mini review

A compact, powerful and chic Bluetooth speaker

Full sound ; Charges devices ; Multi-directional mic ; Amazing battery life

Kickstand isn't adjustable ; No battery button ; Grille is lint-prone

The premium Esquire Mini comes fully recommended for those looking for a feature-packed Bluetooth speaker that's as chic as it is capable.

Harman Kardon Esquire Mini review

Harman Kardon's Esquire Mini is one of those products you'd love to receive as a gift, but you might hesitate to acquire on your own for $150 ( £124.95 UK, $229 AU). It's part Bluetooth speaker , part high-quality portable speakerphone and part...

The Harman Kardon Esquire Mini Bluetooth speaker has a slim, sleek design, and a built-in kickstand. It makes for an excellent speakerphone and can also charge your phone.

Since it doesn't have much bass it doesn't sound great with music; a little pricey.

The Harman Kardon Esquire Mini is a great-looking micro Bluetooth speaker that works quite well as a speakerphone, but is bass-challenged, so it isn't much of a music speaker.

Harman Kardon Esquire Mini review

The Esquire Mini beckons with its sleek and sexy design, but the tradeoff for its waifish profile is equally thin sound.

While Harman Kardon has crafted a gorgeous portable speaker in the Esquire Mini, it has done so at the expense of quality audio performance, offering a meager field of sound, with virtually no bass response, and occasional distortion issues. Thanks to...

Harman Kardon Esquire Mini

The suave, svelte Harman Kardon Esquire Mini delivers certain musical genres cleanly and crisply, but others can suffer from distortion or weak bass.

Crisp audio performance. Can get quite loud for a speaker this size. Handsome, easily portable design. Built-in speakerphone.

Distorts on some deep bass tracks, even at modest volumes. Classical tracks tend to sound thin and lacking in lows.

It's true that we can more or less expect a speaker this size to be weak on bass, but that brings us back to the high price. While the Esquire Mini is certainly a good-looking, highly portable option, there are more compelling speakers in this price...

Review: Harman/Kardon Esquire Mini

When you need better sound, you can always rely on a portable speaker, but Harman/Kardon's Esquire Mini doesn't just provide a decent sound, it packs in a useful battery, too.

Bright and detailed sound; Louder than you'll expect; Includes a stand that pushes out easily; Includes a battery built-in to charge your other devices; Very compact; Battery indicator (lights) on the side; Chargeable using microUSB;

Not a lot of bass; Hard to clean;
