An interesting look packed with a lot of features, and of course a great sound make these speakers another great on our list of speakers to own. Another must buy, specially if you are an outdoorsy person!

When it comes down to it, even though it's pricey, we dig the BRV-1's great sound and tough design and can't help but to throw it a recommendation.

The Braven BRV-1M is a solid rugged Bluetooth speaker, but its audio performance is not as impressive as its outdoor-friendly design.

Gets loud for its size. Waterproof and shockproof build. Speakerphone functionality. Includes mount. Can charge mobile devices.

Braven BRV-1 review: A splashproof mini Bluetooth speaker that sounds decent

With the BRV-1's price dropping to close to $100, it's now a decent value.

The Braven BRV-1 is a compact wireless Bluetooth speaker that has a rugged, splashproof design. It sounds decent for its size and has good battery life.

Some people may find the pulsating blue light on the front irritating, particularly when using the speaker in a darkened room; doesn't pair automatically after initial pairing.

If you're looking for a compact rugged, water-resistant Bluetooth speaker, the Braven BRV-1 is worth considering now that its street price has dropped to closer to $100.

Braven BRV-1

The rugged, Bluetooth-equipped Braven BRV-1 delivers quality audio, but occasionally runs into trouble at top volumes.

Super-rugged, water-resistant design. Quality audio performance at moderate-to-high levels on genres without deep bass. Built-in speakerphone. Can charge mobile devices.

Deep bass can cause vibration issues at top volumes. Slightly expensive for its size and performance.

If you're looking for a more powerful sound, you're going to need to either spend more money on a portable Bluetooth system like the Bose SoundLink Mini, or forego the portable aspect entirely with a stationary option like the Boston Acoustics MC100...
