Plextor PX-G256M6e M.2 256GB PCIE SSD Review

Compared to mSATA SSDs, M.2 PCIE SSDs have far more potential in the desktop market. mSATA has a much lower bandwidth limit than M.2. In fact, M.2 utilizes the PCIE lanes to transfer data which means much higher potential. Also, while mSATA is limited...

Great all around performance ; Faster than standard SATA3 or mSATA SSDs ; Encryption onboard ; Compatible with every platform tested so far

Priced significantly higher than SATA3 SSDs of similar capacity

Most every SSD, whether standard SATA, mSATA, or PCIE SSD device will all transform the performance of your computer, and turn it in to a more efficient tool for handling large media, apps and data. Not only do our systems boot much faster, but all...

Really really good - generally speaking

Mine was OK for awhile, but then, within a year, it wasn't. It seems that it needed some maintenance. The new firmware seems to have fixed mine. It's working good now. I just use it as a game drive now - maybe the new firmware makes it viable as an OS...

Easy to install, takes advantage of new tech, plugs right in to m.2 slot on MB. Win 7 installed on it with no difficulties at all - really fast by the way. This is a good size for an OS drive plus 2-3 large games like WoW, War Thunder and SWTOR. Really...

None - for quite awhile. I had to re-load Windows on it several times after 10 -11 months. Data corruption caused several system freezes and crashes. The drive was unusable as it was not reliable and I can't afford the time to reload Windows and...

No problems and fast

I get Windows 10 boot-up times <=20 seconds (according to 360 Total Security)

Fast, small, so far reliable

Not as cheap as mechanical drives

DO NOT BUY

Its tiny, solid state, fast, and seems like very cool technology.

Total !#%. Returning for RMA. Data Corruption occurs within weeks of secure format / erase with very little use. Files get corrupted all the time. OS crashes due to file corruption. Apps fail due to corruption. I have worked with computers for a very...

Dead upon arrival.

I have no doubt that this is a good SSD if it works... it was dead upon arrival unfortunately. I also am worried about the fact that it might run a hot.

Didn't have the chance to test the product.

Started Out Well, Ended in Frustration

At first, this SSD ran flawlessly for about 4-5 months. All of a sudden I started getting 2-3 lockups per day. I'm running Ubuntu Linux and when the problem occurs linux tells me it cannot communicate with this SSD. I have tried updating the SSD...

Very fast. Supports legacy booting
