Intel 330 Series 120GB review

Strong performance, a great price and a useful upgrade kit, but other drives are quicker for the same money

Intel's 330 Series SSD is a good-value drive with a useful upgrade kit and strong performance. It can't quite top the

Dead in 20 Months

Luckily, I had backed my most critical data, but to have the SSD fail in less than two years really makes me skeptical about this technology.

I love the speed of the SSD and the very quick boot-up and accesses data

The drive totally died after fairly light use over a 20 month period. I ordered it on December 31, 2012, and installed it using the Intel software that was included. This month, I could not access the data on the drive at all. When checked out by a...

FAST and RELIABLE

SSD's are fantasic but I always recommend having at least one mechanical HDD in your pc as well if nothing more than for storage. I currently run: Two of these SSDs in RAID 0 (windows and games) Two WD Black 1TB 7200rpm drives in RAID 1 (storage and...

I have two of these bad boys in a RAID 0 configuration and my read speed is over 1gb/s. Write time on these particular drives is not nearly that high, but I want to say it's around 600mb/s in RAID 0. They have been solid and reliable which is more than...

Small, not a lot of storage space, but for me that isn't as bad of an issue because of the RAID 0. Newer versions are available that have more storage for about the same price that I purchased these for over a year ago

Like the reviewer below, I also regret not picking up more of these when they were on sale on Black Friday last year. This went into a laptop with SATA II... it's been over a year now and according to the Intel diagnostic tool the drive still has...

It's an SSD. It does what an SSD does ; Nice auto-updating software/firmware tools ; Purported Intel reliability seems to be accurate thus far

Doesn't bench as highly as enthusiast level drives, but this makes no difference in the real world

Fast

With Intel you alway get what you pay for. They are not the cheapest but quality is there. This SSD paired with a i7-4770k at stock speed 8 seconds boot! Compared to a Patriot and a Crucial, there is no question as which is the fastest/best quality!

Blazing Fast ; High quality ; Good software support

computer case should start making special slots for SSD if they haven't already.

bought two for me and my son, speeds up loading of OS, quiet, no issues once installed

I find installing SSD's in computer cases more of a pain than it needs to be. But this would be a problem with every SSD. I get really frustrated with work computers since they still have hard drives
