OK Google, make us a really good Android Wear smartwatch

Google Now notifications work well ; Accurate voice recognition ; Reasonable selection of early Android Wear apps

Poor battery life ; Plain, ordinary watch design ; Poor outdoor visibility

Without stating the obvious, the G Watch needs to be connected to your phone, specifically one running Android 4.3 JellyBean or higher to get the optimal experience. When disconnected, you do still get some stripped back functionality like the ability...

Is the Android Wear-powered LG G Watch finally a wearable worth owning?

Android Wear ; Fast and easy to use ; Simple to set up

Lower res screen then rival ; Proprietary charging dock ; Battery life

LG G Watch review

The LG G Watch is one of the first Android Wear devices, and the most affordable at the time of writing, making it the first step in a the brave new world of Google's Android platform. Priced at £159 it's the asking price that puts the LG G Watch...

Most affordable entry point to Android Wear, slick and fast, comfortable to wear, open to personal strap choices

Outdoor visibility is poor, battery life isn't long enough, design perhaps a little too generic, voice-centric operation

Priced at £159 it's the asking price that puts the LG G Watch within reach of many. For those fans of technology, and fans of Android, this is a great entry point to a new world of Android Wear smartwatches.

LG G Watch review

It's the first Android Wear device - but is the G Watch a worthy flagship for Google's new OS?

Android Wear is mostly brilliant ; Comfortable to wear ; Compatible with most Android devices ; Waterproof

Battery life ; Needs a charging cradle ; Uninspired design

Not quite the icon Android Wear needs

LG G Watch review

Android Wear is upon us and is Google's version of the popular mobile OS specifically designed for wearable devices like smartwatches. The LG G Watch is one of two launch products for the platform alongside the Samsung Gear Live so here's our full LG G...

The LG G Watch is the best smartwatch we've reviewed so far, partly due to the affordable price tag and the excellent, albeit not flawless, Android Wear system. You will need a device with Android 4.3 or later, though. The design of the G Watch doesn't...

LG G Watch review

Notifications on your wrist. Pop-up information from your phone. The potential to interact with a lot of phone apps from your watch. This is what owning a Google watch feels like. Android Wear is the name of the software, and the first watches running...

The G Watch shows off Android Wear's impressive voice recognition, Android phone connectedness, and potential for future app support. It has solid build quality, is water- and dust-resistant, and the included magnetic charger is easy to use.

A generic-looking design; terrible battery life; a display that doesn't work in bright sunlight; a strange card-based notification system that doesn't always pop info you want; costs more, lacks the heart-rate monitor, and has a slightly weaker display...

The LG G Watch attempts to bring you the future on your wrist, but with its generic design, unimpressive battery life, and unpolished early software, you're better off waiting to see what else is around the bend.

LG G Watch vs Motorola Moto 360 vs Samsung Gear Live review

At Google I/O, the firm gave more detail on Android Wear for smartwatches. There are three devices at the moment so here we compare the LG G Watch, Samsung Gear Live and Motorola Moto 360.

While the LG G Watch is the cheapest, the Samsung Gear Live is a little thinner and lighter. It also has a heart rate monitor and a higher resolution screen which might make it worth an extra tenner from your wallet. Although it's likely to be more...

LG G Watch review

Android Wear makes its debut appearance on LG's first smartwatch, but it's a long way from perfect

LG's first attempt at a smart watch manages to tick most of the right boxes, but it isn't the leap forward for wearables we were hoping for. This is partly due to Android Wear being in its infancy, with many apps and features still waiting to make an...
