Apple Watch review

The iPhone-tailored smartwatch is an expensive convenience gadget

Stylish design ; Clever interface ; Dramatic OS update

Expensive at any level ; Battery life is one day ; Missing many key apps

Apple Watch is good, but better suited on the wrists of early adopters and boutique shop regulars. It's convenient but there's a learning curve you have to overcome and a high price that some people won't be able to get around.

Apple Watch review updated a year on: still the best smartwatch around

The Apple Watch certainly wasn't the first smartwatch, but it was the most well-known and popular.

Great design ; Lovely screen ; Accurate voice recogntion

Hard to learn interface ; Limited useful apps

Apple has definitely made the smartwatch appeal to the mainstream in a way that Pebble and Android Wear didn’t.

Apple Watch review: 5 months with Apple's smartwatch

Before it even went on sale the Apple Watch, which some affectionately call the iWatch, polarised opinion around the globe. Six months on from initial launch and it's still up against a multitude of challengers, with the number seemingly growing by the...

Great design, Glances, stylish, battery life, reply to text messages, photo watch faces, Apple Pay

Apps are slow to load when not native, no GPS, no third-party watch faces, doesn't offer huge amounts over what is on the market

The Apple Watch is a powerful smartwatch with plenty of features on offer - from calls, to notifications, and thousands of apps all on your wrist. There's not much that sets it apart from the competition, however, save for its good-looking design.

Apple Watch Series 1 review

You don't need a smartwatch. And if you think you do, paying more than a couple of hundred dollars feels pretty hard to swallow.

Costs less than Apple Watch Series 3. Has Apple Pay, heart rate functions, and runs all the same apps. Similar design and uses same bands, too.

Lacks swim-ready water resistance and onboard GPS found in Series 3 models. Only comes in aluminum. Doesn't have the Wi-Fi music streaming and Radio app of Series 3 models.

If you're not a runner or a swimmer, the entry-level Apple Watch has most of what you'll need at a more affordable price.

Apple Watch review: not perfect, but it's cheaper now

It's not without its flaws, but the Apple Watch is beautifully designed and has some great features for iPhone owners. Is it the right smartwatch for you? Find out in our Apple Watch review.

We can't help but think that Apple has tried to do too much with this first generation Apple Watch. There are so many ways of interacting with it and so many different features and elements to get used to that the learning curve is surprisingly steep....

Apple Watch

Apple may not be the first technology company to release a smartwatch, however, it is debatably the first to generate any significant interest about a wearable.

Best-looking smartwatch so far ; Force Touch well integrated ; Digital Crown is a useful addition ; Comfortable to wear

Unintuitive and buggy software ; Significantly drains iPhone battery ; Third-party apps need work ; Some gimmicky features

Apple Watch hands on

With the launch of Apple Music last week, we've been spending some time with the Apple Watch to find out how good it is for listening to music, and how useful it is as the main controller for your audio/video system.

So the $64m question: do you need an Apple Watch? Simple answer, no. Like all Apple products it is beautifully made, does all sorts of clever things and is a big talking point with friends and colleagues. But it is expensive (the cheapest version is...

Apple Watch preview: The iWatch is on sale, but is it worth buying?

Apple's smartwatch, called the Apple Watch rather than the expected iWatch, is available to buy now. Here, we bring you an Apple Watch preview based on all of the information we know so far and our hands-on experience with the hot new device.

We can't offer our final verdict on the Apple Watch until we've spent some more time with it, but first impressions are good. It's more expensive than most of its rivals despite being capable of most of the same things, but that hasn't stopped people...
