Canon CanoScan 9000F Film and Negative Scanner

The bundled software is largely focused on photo scanning, with a choice of two photo editors—Arcsoft PhotoStudio 6 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. PhotoStudio is the easier program to get started with if you're new to scanning. Photoshop Elements is...

Fast, high-quality scans for prints and 35mm slides. LED light source largely eliminates warm-up time

Has trouble handling strips of film correctly

The Canon CanoScan 9000F Film and Negative Scanner delivers fast, high quality scans, but had some issues scanning negatives in our tests.

CanoScan 9000F -- Scanning at 9600 dpi

While Canon's CanoScan 8800F and Epson's V600 battle it out in the sub-$200 flatbed film scanner sweepstakes, Canon has quietly trumped them both with its highest resolution film flatbed ever: the CanonScan 9000F.

We have to applaud both Canon and Epson for shaking up the scanner world with affordable flatbeds that have the horsepower to scan film at a reasonable price.

Canon CanoScan 9000F Scanner

Having read various reports on the internet about how slow and inefficient slide scanners can be, I was slightly apprehensive about buying one (comments about the "dark arts" of scanning don't help!). So I did a lot of research before acquiring one....

Quick and easy to install. Clear instructions. Excellent results so far

Quite noisy when scanning
