The Canon CanoScan 8800F flatbed scanner works well on both prints and film.
High-quality scans, particularly for prints. Backlight correction feature. LED light source eliminates warm-up time.
Scratch removal feature has little to no effect. Scans only four slides at a time.
In the niche category of flatbed scanner that scans film and prints, the Canon CanoScan 8800F delivers high quality with impressive consistency.

Speed
Quality (Only a small disadvantage)

I find that it often cuts off parts of the scan when I bypass the preview.
Scanning has come a long way from the older umax scanner I had to this 8800F. So fast and easy it is wicked!
This review will differ somewhat from the other reviews which seem primarily focused on photo and film scanning. My primary use is in an office, though I also wanted a scanner good at photos and bought this one based on positive reviews in that regard.
None so far, I love this scanner. Have not yet scanned a photo (only documents) though so can't speak for that yet.
