Yamaha RX-V381 review

This entry-level AV receiver isn't overflowing with features, but it's a focused performer...

Big, enveloping presentation ; Fast and articulate sound ; Particularly expressive with voices ; Dead easy to set up and use

Rivals are more fruitfully featured ; Lacks a little authority and solidity

A pleasingly entertaining, albeit scarcely featured, performer

Yamaha announces entry-level RX-V381 receiver has full 4K support

The snow may have melted, but 'tis the season for receiver announcements. Tralalalala lalalala. Yamaha is the latest company with good tidings for its upcoming refresh: the RX-Vx81 series.

all the connections i would need , 4 hdmi input to 1 hdmi outputs , audio presets are a good start to movies

a bit fiddly from a first time use , some settings aren't clear and need research , remote is needed for most functions

Excellent bang for your 'buck'

Purchased this during a decent upgrade to 4K for my PS$ Pro, unfortunately my old amp had no 4K passthrough, so I was left with either running the image directly to the TV, and the sound via toslink - or replace,,, Glad I spent the little extra over...

great value , great sound , plenty of inputs

ships with 4k disabled , controller feels cheap , occasional speaker loss

Great But....

Great but no output to Bluetooth. What a disappointment. So you can't use your £200 Bluetooth headphones with this piece of kit..
