Yamaha RX-V2065 review

While Yamaha's new GUI and fascia design isn't the best we have seen, this AVR still sounds as good as ever

Wonderful natural sound ; Good with wide range of movies ; Great networking

Confusing GUI ; Slightly flimsy build quality

This AVR was designed for those who want great all round sound a pictures with the minimum of fuss

Yamaha RX-V2065 review

A gifted multichannel amplifier, but it lacks the spark of the class leaders at this price point

Great features ; superb steering of surround effects ; sounds weighty and authoritative

Entry-level looks ; slight edge to high frequencies ; doesn’t sound as detailed as key rivals

A fine feature-packed machine, but lacks the spark of the class leaders at this price point

Yamaha RX-V2065 7.1 A/V Receiver with MusicCast System

In this review, we take a look at the RX-V2065 7.1 A/V receiver, along with the MusicCast system. Using a single remote, you could control remote music stations (with or without an internal amplifier for speakers), as well as a Yamaha receiver, and...

There were many things that I wanted to try out on the Yamaha MusicCast System, and it came very close to providing me with everything I was after. It had a receiver that was fine at handling movies and music, it was able to provide wireless access to...

Yamaha RX-V2065 Preview

The Yamaha RX-V2065 is the latest in the '65 series of receivers. At $1399 MSRP, it is currently the most expensive. At that price point you'd expect a lot of performance, and you'd get it.

TheYamaha RX-V2065 has a lot of bang for the buck. All the receivers currently onthe market with network capability have higher price tags. Add to that the yearsof manufacturing that Yamaha has under their belt and you've got a lot to getexcited about....

Yamaha RX-V2065 AV receiver

With this new 2499 receiver Yamaha seems to be aiming to simplify the home cinema experience. And that’s generally a good thing.

Yamaha RX-V2065 - AV Cinema Receiver

I really like this recievers features and sound, it feels reliable.

Not really a bad point but the design doesn't get my heart pumping faster, but then again I didn't buy this product based on how it looked.

Best Receiver with 2 HDMI outs for the Money!

This receiver is awesome. You can't go wrong with this purchase. Newegg is top notch. They delivered in less than 3 days and the price was way below everyone else's (Day before Sunday!). READ THE MANUAL!! UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE!!! This solved any...

Unlimited expansion capabilities, Yamaha crystal clear sound, very easy speaker setup with included microphone. LOVE the Ipod dock, internet radio, phono input, detailed tweeking capabilities, movies sound superb....I got this because of the two HDMI...

FM reception IS poor better with firmware update. I could care less. Not a deal breaker. As an audiophile, for the past 10 years I have not had an antenna hooked up to the tuner section of my receivers. I only hooked up the antenna on this receiver to...

Most Bang for the Buck

I highly recommend getting banana plugs for your speaker wires for connecting this unit. The connectors are close together (as are most on receivers) and banana plugs make the setup go way quicker!

After months of research I decided on the 2065 based on it having almost everything I was looking for in a new receiver at an affordable price. The Internet radio is awesome and the ability to listen to all my MP3s from my computer and my wife's iPod....

The FM reception is horrible! I cannot get either of the local stations I normally listen to. Luckily, it has the Internet radio, so I no longer really care about the local stations. It does not have any electrical outlets on the back, as my other two...

Execllent

Connected to a Samsung LN52B750 with a Klipsch SL 5.1 system. Xbox 360, PS3, Cable box, Seagate TheaterPlus, and DVD player.(still have open inputs.) I think that adding 2-4 speakers will keep you from going to the movie ever again. I think 7.1...

I'm geek. I bought it just because of the Iphone app and network connection. Features are to numerous to mention. New firmware works with the Samsung TV AnyNet+. The auto setup is great. Pass-through option

Not really a cons, but it is best to manually check for firmware updates using the Network option. I've not seen updates online. AM and FM reception is weak for me, I'll be getting better antennas. You will need to work on wire management
