Great product!

other than the headache I'm having trying to get my subwoofer working, it's a great unit!

Has all the bells and whistles - HDMI 1.4a, HD Radio, Internet Radio, ARC. HDMI control to name a few. Firmware is user upgradeable, either via internet or usb stick

getting a subwoofer to work/be detected is a process. I'm still trying to figure it out. No paper manual, but a quick call to Yamaha can get you one sent to you free of charge

Yamaha RX-A2000

Highly configurable. Tons of inputs and outputs that can be individually tweaked and assigned to 1 of 12 possible "Scenes". One push of a "Scene" button is all that is needed to completely change the characteristics of the receiver. From switching what...

The only USB connection is on the front, behind the flip-down door. It would have been nice to have at least one USB connection in the back. Minor but annoying ; The FM tuner really sucks for pulling in over-the-air broadcasts. It is not very sensitive...

YAMAHA RX-A2000

Overall, worth the money when you consider all of the features it has. I apired it with Yamaha speakers and set the impedance to match at 6 ohms. Looking forward to many years of enjoying this unit.

Outstanding number of features. On screen is very cool! Networking works well and the web control interface is just super

The Sensitivity of the tuner - (ability of a tuner to pick up stations) is not so good. A tuner with excellent ; specs will have 10dBf (mono) and this tuner is spec'd at 20.8. NOTE: Lower is better. I replaced a 1979 Rotel tuner and it just doesn't...

Very good receiver overall, few quirks

iPhone app is an excellent value add and has more functions than Denon or Pioneer. Nice web interface suitable for tablets and smart phones, even if you don't have an iPhone.

Very good sound quality. Better menu system than previous year models. Very good network features ; Parametric equalizer and many audio tweaking options ; Internet radio, HD radio

Remote control! Yamaha used to make better remote controls five years ago. My RX-V2500 that was cheaper and had a nice lighted remote. But this one is clunky, hard to press buttons, no back lighting. Almost useless LCD screen. To make things worse,...

Fantastic receiver

Amazing value for money -just $899 with the Newegg rebate! Now it is set up, for TV viewing everything is controlled via DirecTV remote. For everything else I use the supplied small remote if near the receiver, otherwise my iPhone from anywhere else in...

1080p upscaling on everything -even analog inputs ; integrates seamlessly with Sony Bravia TV and DirecTV ; HD radio works perfectly with supplied wire antenna ; iPod app provides full wireless control via WiFi ; streams music from any PC on your network

Excellent Gear, UI less so

I bought this device for its features and its quality; not for its manual and remote. So the cons, while there are a number of them and some are really big ones, are definitely outweighed by the pros. This is a real performer with what appear to be...

Overall great unit with excellent sound, nice video processing and oodles of features, half of which I am not even using (yet). Very flexible in terms of reassigning i/o, adjusting settings, customizing for your AV gear. Networking adds a brave new...

OK. Serious deficiencies in the user interface department. The on-screen menus are pretty awful. The remote is giant and laid out in a way that makes me wonder if the designer was drinking. Some of the buttons are under a fold out panel. Some of the...

Great receiver

For me this receiver is fantastic for the $$$. Construction feels solid and access to connections on the front panel make it easy to connect devices. I would recommend you take a look at this receiver before you buy another brand.

Sound quality, wattage, features to price ratio excellent. Automated set up of speakers (YPAO) was easy and accurate (to my ears at least). Various music scenes let me tailor it to my tastes. 130 watts - this baby cranks (Yamaha has a governor on the...

Remote is full of buttons - awkward design. I have my system connected to a Netgear WNCE2001 wifi adapter (this is awesome- connects wirelessly with ethernet connector) which connects wirelessly to my WDR37AV netgear router. I can access music from my...
