Compared to similar Yamaha, Pioneer and Sony models in the low end price range (Ive used all brands), I like the Onkyo a tiny bit more. Audio quality is high, and the inteface/setup is fantastic . Connectivity options are good (no 1080p upscale or HD...
Audio quality for playing music overall is very high - very detailed and spacious - I'm very surprised given the price of this receiver. The setup is extremely easy, the remote is excellent. All the buttons and menu options are intuitive and sensible
Compressed Audio Enhancer doesn't improve MP3s as much as I hoped. I detected a tiny bit of static creeping in at high frequencies when using DTS mode to playing MP3s. (though still figuring out if this is a cable issue)

Sound is crystal clear and clean even at extremely high volumes. A second set of left and right zone outputs for adding extra speakers around the house or in my case outside pool speakers that are assigned to Speakers "B" so no need for a second amp or...
Easy setup and very easy to use. Great bang for the buck! Sound is clean, clear and LOUD! Wonderful sound processing
HDMI audio is "pass through" only to the TV speakers! You will need Optical or SPDIF lines for digital audio from each device. No extra back power outlet plugs on the back

On the video side, the TX-SR307 can receive up to three 1080p resolution video sources via HDMI - think Blu-ray Disc, PlayStation, and HD broadcasts - and send pristine video to your compatible high-definition display. When it comes to audio, a suite of...

The heart of the Home theater system is the AV receiver. A device that has that taken the word “multitask” to unimaginable heights. Right from powering your speakers, to decoding and splitting signals, the AV receiver is very important in your HT...
At a price of Rs. 25,000 I would have to say that it’s a tad expensive, as Onkyo themselves have full fledged Home Theater in a box for a bit more. It’s a new model, and surely has a very clean and even sounding response, plus the basic features of any...
Today we have their mid level model called the TX-SR307, let’s see if this is a good ‘first AV receiver' choice.
