Worked right out of the box

I needed a replacement for my Carver 900 stereo amplifier/receiver that I bought in 1987. It was important that I be able to easily connect my legacy phonograph, tape player CD player and my cable box without needing adapters. The Onkyo TX-8050 met...

Sounds awful

I hooked these to my wonderful 1970's vintage EPI's that had once been powered by a lovely sounding TEAC receiver. Well, what a disappointment my first Onkyo piece turned out to be. No vocal nuance or layering, this thing is best suited for the scooped...

Lemon - Onkyo unresponsive

In less than two years this unit was in shop three times. This last shop visit lasted from early July to today - Aug 19. Kurt note that I should "try to connect the Ethernet cable directly from the MODEM to the RECEIVER." The unit has always been...

Real Good Stereo Receiver

This is a real good receiver for the money. It's easy to set up and good looking. It has enough power to get loud but the sound is generally clean, which is what I want in a receiver. I like that it has a pre-out and Zone 2 capability but I would...

Sweet, Sleek and Powerful

Love this receiver. I purchased for the network capability. Setup is minimal. I stream XM radio primarily. Powerful sound. 2 channel is great for me.

Functionality and set-up

This review is a little different because I bought this unit and had it delivered to my Florida address but my components are in Canada. I bought it here because the price is about $ cheaper than in Canada...even after the exchange!Anyway...I could...

Very nice but using app is a must

The receiver performs to my expectations, but using pandora, serius , or internet programming without an Android or iThing app is not really viable due to the receivers limited display. Overall very happy.

Solid receiver at a good value

Replaced a higher-end receiver that proved too complicated for my wife to use. In the end it provides similar performance level for her purposes.

Better Than Expected

This unit is excellent and has more features than I realized when I bought it. Setup was simple and it is mostly intuitive to use. The menu system requires some getting use to and a call to tech support was useful to decode the menu system. Tech...
