This is not the best receiver on the market but I have owned it since 1997 and at the time it was comparable to Sony and Pioneer at the time. Infact, I thought for the price it blew the them out of the water! I paid $250. I agree with a previous post...

Aiwa AV-X200

 

This is the reciever that got me through my college years. I have since upgrade to Rotel (quite an upgrade!), but have passed this reciever along to my room-mate, who is very pleased with it, as was I during my ownership.
