Ultimate Ghosts ‘n' Goblins PSP Review

Ghosts ‘n Goblin and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts are both remembered for not only being classic games, but also for demanding a lot from those who were brave enough to step into the boxer shorts and shiny armour of Arthur, the games pint-sized and bearded knight....

Ultimate places all the series’ traditions on a plate without really adding any further – game changing – ingredients. It might be a new game, but this is as old skool as you are going to get, and does little to push towards dramatically changing the...

Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins

Ghosts 'N Goblins remains a solid entry to the series that is well deserving of its Ultimate moniker, thanks to addictive gameplay and polished design that's ideal for the format.

Warning: do not play if suffering from a heart condition

If you're after the most unjust, deceitful, and one-sided gaming experience ever, this is certainly a strong contender

Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins (2006)

With their endless continues, gentle learning curves and free-roaming environments that allow you to tiptoe around trouble, veteran players will argue that modern games are much too easy. But for a reminder of how tough coin-op adventures used to be,...

Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins on PSP

Hard. Very Hard.

If you have been a fan of the series, then you will know exactly what to expect with this title. Some gamers will welcome the challenge while other will most definitely not. I am a part of the latter group. While I do enjoy a challenging game, such as...

Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins Review

I think I'm getting too old for some games. I recently tried Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins for the PSP, and I'll tell you right now: despite the game's great graphics, fun weapons and and addictive 2D gameplay in a 3D environment, I hardly enjoyed the game...

Luckily, the simplistic gameplay of Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins lends itself to the PSP platform pretty well. The wide screen gives you pretty good visibility on either side of Arthur, while the controls are very easy with the D-pad and only a few...

Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins

Crammed with fast-paced and challenging gameplay, new foes, items, moves and power-ups, this is a must get for serious platform fans. Retro gamers who enjoyed the original arcade versions will also get a genuine kick out of it.

Familiar characters, storyline and side-scrolling format combine with responsive controls, extra features and gorgeous, quasi-3D graphics to make for a happy marriage of old and new

Following in the proud tradition of its predecessors, the game is fiendishly difficult, with a dozen gruesome deaths awaiting Arthur at every turn. If you're after an easy-beat platform game, this isn't it

Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins Sony PSP Review

Once again, poor Arthur must battle against members of the Demon Realm, as they've kidnapped his lovely princess in an effort to re-emerge from the darkness. Arthur will have to endure a series of levels in order to reach her, although the quest will...

Wonderfully designed; great music; challenging gameplay

HARD! Incredibly hard. So hard your grandchildren will be born angry

You've probably read our look back at Super Ghouls n' Ghosts. If you haven't, let me sum up what I thought about the game in three words- terrific, entertaining, and HARD. Actually, can I make it four words? I'll add "frustratingly" right before hard....

Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins Review

Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins gets the old school parts right, but fails in other places.

Then there's the matter of wonky controls. Capcom did a nice job adding to Arthur's arsenal so that he can whip out a shield and hang onto ledges, but the developers did nothing about the crappy jumping that plagues previous games in the franchise....

Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins

Arthur's back, and so are his undies.

After a lot of replaying and memorizing to complete the first five levels (out of six), you'll have to do a lot of backtracking to previous levels to find the number of gold rings you need to move forward. That means replaying levels that weren't all...
