Tekken: Dark Resurrection

What do you get when you take one of gaming's most longstanding and celebrated fighting series and shrink it down, unsullied, onto Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld? Well, in the case of Tekken: Dark Resurrection, it means you get one of the purest...

All in all, there's an absolute ton of mode content to choose from, as well as character customisations, difficulty levels, and other gameplay options. But, most importantly, Tekken's 34 playable characters are all available from the get-go. That of...

Tekken: Dark Resurrection (2006)

While Sony iInvariably uses Tekken to showcase its new hardware at launch stage, even diehard fans were anxious that the flawless fracas couldn’t be shoehorned onto a UMD. But with Dark Resurrection, Namco has delivered all you’ve come to expect...

Tekken Dark Resurrection

The quick and relatively uncomplicated fighting fix that Tekken provides is ideal for a handheld format, and if that's what you're looking for this may be the best example yet.

Superb graphics ; Plentiful multiplayer options ; Lots of content

Control issues

I'll be the first to admit that I fell off the Tekken wagon some time ago, preferring some of the more ambitious fighting games that came out in the last few years. Since this is essentially Tekken 5.5, it doesn't add much to the game you may have...

Tekken: Dark Resurrection

Cowering tigers and hiding dragons as the big boss unleashes its fists of fury

The basic controls are simple enough: just four buttons, each corresponding to your (gorgeously animated) pugilist's four limbs. Strings and combinations of these create fighting combos – the cornerstone of any self-respecting beat-'em-up – which often...

Tekken: Dark Resurrection (PSP)

If you ask me, no PlayStation game line-up or collection is complete without a Tekken game in it. It's like owning a Nintendo console without a Mario game in your collection — it's just not done. With the PSP desperately in need of a ‘killer app' since...

As I mentioned earlier, fighting game fan or not, there’s something in this one for everybody. If you’ve played through Tekken 5, when it came out on the PS2, chances are that you will still enjoy this one. It’s got enough new content (and Tekken...

Tekken: Dark Resurrection

Tekken: Dark Resurrection is more than a game, it's an experience and could easily be the benchmark fighting game for the hand-held market.

Breath-taking graphics, great choice of game modes and character customisation make this game hard to put down. The story mode is superb and the tutorial modes are great for beginners

Tekken: Dark Resurrection

STUNNING GRAPHICS: The beauty of TEKKEN is re-created on the handheld console, delivering one of the most realistic graphics on a handheld platform. A variety of destructible objects pump up the action on 19 stages!

Tekken: Dark Resurrection Review

I'll fully admit it right now: I've never really liked the Tekken series of fighting games. My allegiance has been with the Street Fighter and Soul Calibur games, and every time I tried to play Tekken I'd get frustrated with just how quickly fights...

Tekken: Dark Resurrection has a massive number of characters, stages, bonus items, and extra gameplay modes. The action is smooth and satisfying and the ghost gameplay is actually a really great alternative to real online play. This has got to be one...
