Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

The often second-rate Syphon Filter series wasn't perhaps the most obvious franchise to find success on the PSP but, almost out of nowhere, Dark Mirror turned out to be one of the best games to find its way onto Sony's handheld in 2006. Now, stripped...

To be honest, Dark Mirror was so good that Sony Bend could have got away with slapping a fresh story and some new levels around the same engine and been done with it. To their credit there's a real attempt with Logan's Shadow to push things forward, it...

Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow

As fans of Logan's original PS1 adventures and his latest outing on PSP last year, we were quietly confident that Sony Bend's second venture on PSP would meet the high standard set by Dark Mirror. Thankfully Logan's Shadow equals the quality of its...

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

Logan's Shadow is slick, well produced, and involving, and most importantly it is very hard to put down. As great PSP action games go, this should be fairly near to the top of any list.

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

Brilliant stuff

The central campaign consists of six chapters divided into three to five bite-sized levels. Each chapter takes place in a different location, offering a decent mix of settings ranging from a sunken ship to a Russian gulag to the sand-swept Iraqi...

Hands on with Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

You can't have too much of a good thing. Take cake, holidays, a great book and video games, to name the four that first come to mind and irrefutably prove that opening statement.

So when an awesome action adventure hits your PSP, it's pretty normal to want another helping

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

Back in the days when the original Playstation was ruling the console world, many new franchises were emerging to take their place in gaming history. Amongst them was Syphon Filter, a third person shooter with rough-around-the-edges Gabe Logan as its...

A lengthy adventure ; Decent multiplayer offerings ; Good, concise control system

Not particularly innovative ; Training, while good, takes a long time to finish

While the first and third PS1 Syphon Filter games can be downloaded to the PSP for a fraction of the price of Logan's Shadow, their control system doesn't transfer over particularly well. Therefore, if you're up for some run and gun action with Gabe...

The Syphon Filter series has been a staple of the PlayStation since the very beginning. It has seen three games on the PS1, one on the PS2, and also the highly acclaimed Dark Mirror on the PlayStation Portable. With this being the sixth game in the...

Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

Worth a shot and will go down well with followers of the series. It breathes new life into the series, both on the gaming experience and relationships formed throughout. It also sheds new light on the PSP which has for a while now been screaming out...

Pretty impressive looking game, and one that easily could be among the top games on the platform. It also cleverly implements a few features to make up for the PSP's lack of functionality

The God of War button combination action is poorly implemented and used needlessly in general play. A quick cut scene could have easily done the job for some of the tasks you have to do using this function

The USS Mt. St. Helens is captured by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. The government needs an agent to infiltrate the vessel and secure its top secret cargo. It's too sensitive a mission to send the military in and only one man can do the job: Gabe Logan. With his covert team, Gabe's saved the world before but this time the odds are stacked against him. Logan's mission appears clear, but, as if this operation isn't challenging enough, he's faced with the possibility that his long-term partner, Lian Xing, is a double agent. With his operation compromised and the US Government breathing down his neck, Gabe's resolve is tested to the absolute limit, not least when he also realizes that a mysterious figure is shadowing his every move... He wants answers - and he's going to get them by doing what he does best - stealthy reconnaissance and ruthless elimination of his enemies.
