Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron PSP Review

As you would expect in most games, the title says it all and this is no exception. This is the 3rd Star Wars game in the Battlefront series and most things haven't changed that much since the first. Same control and game play with the improvements of...

Customizations ; Replayability ; Exclusiveness ; Simple controls to master ; Great graphic and authentic video/sounds of Star Wars

limited to 100 credits customization (gain in rank could increase)

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron

A new hope for PSP?

The game drafts you into an elite fighting force assembled by legendary space pilot Han Solo. Under his orders, the squad takes on the harrowing, near-impossible missions in an effort to disrupt the Galactic Empire

Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron (PSP) review

Rebellion proves it's Okay-Wan Kenobi at this kind of thing.

It’s Battlefront… but it’s also the closest thing to the console versions so far, making it an evolution. With a good story, decent controls and great space battles, Rebellion hits more than it misses, but there’s still a lot to improve.

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron review for the PSP

The Force will be with you... sometimes...

Improves upon its precursor; Good presentation; Solid multiplayer; A solo game to speak of

that's kinda bland; Dumbed-down AI and controls; Weak space combat

In the end, it's the customized character loadouts and the chaos of a fully-manned (or fully-womanned, as unlikely as that may be) multiplayer game - not to mention the still-rousing Star Wars audioscape - that make Renegade Squadron. The single-player...

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron

I have to admit I was a little worried when LucasArts announced the next installment in the Star Wars Battlefront series was going to be PSP exclusive. After all, the only other Battlefront title to appear on the handheld, Star Wars Battlefront II,...

With the presence of a story-based campaign mode and full online support for both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure, Renegade Squadron atones for many of the mishaps of the PSP version of Star Wars Battlefront II. The singleplayer portion is a little on the...

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron

The Force is strong in this PSP-exclusive shooter... at least when you take the fight online.

Fantastic multiplayer action; refined controls well-suited for PSP; single-player modes are fun

Single-player modes are short and simple; AI doesn't put up much of a fight; new ship controls remove a lot of challenge

PSP haters and Star Trek fans may now shut the hell up

Fantastic single- and multiplayer ; Issues addressed, great new modes ; Great use of Star Wars license

Fighting in closed quarters ; Not playing living opponents ; Using a GameSpy account

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron PlayStation Portable Review

A bit like giving Chewbacca a bikini wax: hairy at first, but once you're on a roll it's hard to stop.

Players may be disappointed to find their favourite main characters (such Darth Vader, Hans Solo) missing from the customization menu. Renegade Squadron has a heroes feature which gives you the opportunity by asking you during gameplay if you'd like to...
