Pursuit Force (PSP) review

We should really get the obvious out of the way first, right?

We've seen off some of the toughest titles known to man, but Pursuit Force features a different kind of difficulty.

Pursuit Force

Sony delivers a gloriously unrealistic tale of zero tolerance policing for the High Concept generation

Don't worry, it's quite normal. We all do

Pursuit Force

A unique, high-speed crime action title for the PSP.

The load times are all more than bearable, with the worst being about the 10 seconds it takes for a mission to load. I have come across some type of glitch which prevents the game from using the PSP's sleep mode on occasion. I'd need to quit out of the...

Pursuit Force

Pursuit Force was designed with PSP in mind, and it shows in the graphics, which don't look like PS2 graphics shrunk down, but rather an engine that demonstrates the power of the platform. The comic-book style presentation is the beginning of a game...

Pursuit Force

So this is what it feels like to play a portable action movie.

For what it is, Pursuit Force certainly accomplishes all it set out to do, which may not have been especially lofty. It's a pure action movie boiled down into a game, and at that it succeeds very, very handily.

Pursuit Force

Action movies are big on over the top stunts and have the bare essentials when it comes to a narrative. Pursuit Force certainly doesn't break the mold when it comes to this trend, but it is quirky enough to keep you coming back for more. The story and...

Stellar visuals ; Great voice acting ; Challenging gameplay

Later missions feel repetitive ; Lack of multiplayer

An excellent example of what gaming should like be on the PSP that's worth owning.

Pursuit Force

The streets of Capital City are being overrun by five notorious gangs: the sultry Vixens, the elite mercenary Warlords, the Capelli crime family, the Asian syndicate Killer 66, and a gang of escaped Convicts. Enter Pursuit Force, a specialized law...

Overall, Pursuit Force has all the elements of an exciting high-speed Hollywood pursuit: fast cars, loud guns, and daredevil jumps, The gameplay does get a little repetitive at times. Even though you're chasing the criminals in a boat one mission as...

Pursuit Force review for the PSP

A crash course in carjacking.

Frantic action; Good delivery; Interesting jumping mechanic

That could have used more depth; Much like the rest of the game; Repetitive and occasionally frustrating; Is there a story

It's just too bad there isn't more excitement in the actual gameplay or design. Pursuit Force's sweet delivery belies its repetitive action and limited scope, leading to a game best enjoyed in small doses. That might have its place, but we're more...

Pursuit Force

Death, destruction, and the pursuit of extreme justice.

Strong visuals and sense of speed; well-suited to a portable system; leaping from car to car is fun and novel

Gameplay is a bit weak outside its central concept; lacks depth
