Prinny 2: Dawn Of Operation Panties, Dood! review

Prinny returns to the PSP for more platform adventures. Hopefully the game will be better than the title.

Prinny 2's flashes of fun are overwhelmed by its flaws.

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! (PSP) review

The Disgaea universe is set in stone as Nippon Ichi's most popular and memorable. Prinny 2 is based in the netherworld section and continues the same 2D side-scrolling gameplay from its predecessor, and of course it still features everyone's favourite...

Prinny 2 is a niche product that won't appeal to most people. A lot of gamers will think it's cheating them or the game is broken in design. It's not, this game is for the gamer who wants to live the old days of gaming and take up the challenge of...

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! Review

The Prinnies are at it again. This time around they're out to find out who stole their demon overlord's....panties. Yes, panties. Leave it to the Japanese to make a game about cute exploding demon penguins looking for a panty thief fun.

Prinny 2 improves on what the first game set out to do: create a throwback to the old platformers where lives where limited, enemies were plenty and timing jumps was a skill you had to learn. Add in the multiple difficultly levels for each of the...

Review: Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!! for PSP

Thanks to Disgaea, the loveable yet weak Prinny has pretty much become NIS America's mascot. I mean, how can you not love an exploding penguin with a habit of tacking the word "dood" onto the end of most of it's sentences? It's guaranteed to make you...

Get two stories, instead of just one. Multiple difficult levels. Characters and environments look great. Funny premises. Catchy music. Can download a patch so you can unlock Asagi Wars with a code at the opening menu. Each level gets more difficult as...

Controls can still be troublesome. Dashing is a complicated manuever. Even Baby Mode is pretty difficult. Some bosses start getting cheap as you spend more time with the game

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!

In this day and age, its really hard to find a good, solid, challenging game. Although many old school 2D style games like Super Meat Boy and Tempura of the Dead pop up from time to time, they're few and far between amidst an endless sea of shooters...

Prinny 2 is a solid platformer that will appeal to anyone with patience.

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! Review

Do you appreciate a game that raises your blood pressure? A boss fight that makes your heart pound? A score screen that leaves you with shaking, sweat...

Prinny 2 is designed for gamers that want to get their asses kicked. It's the platforming equivalent to the hardcore strategy found in Disgaea, and it will keep all the brave souls out there very busy. I enjoyed my time with it… when I wasn't dying....

Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! Review

Prinny's second heroic adventure features great boss fights, but cheap deaths and lousy controls make this journey extremely frustrating.

Intense and satisfying boss fights ; Some sections show off the buried potential

Unfair difficulty with frequent cheap deaths ; Stiff controls clash with the level design ; Juvenile storyline isn't funny

The ground pound is also quite finicky. There's a noticeable delay between when you hit the button and when you begin the move, and the difference between striking your target and falling into a bottomless pit occurs in that beat. And don't think...

Getting some panties is a difficult task, dood. Do you like platforming in your games? Do you like incredible difficulty? How about ridiculous game titles and premises? If you said...

Nice art style ; Funny and thought out dialog ; Entertaining presentation ; Old school platforming ; Challenging gameplay

Difficulty can become frustrating ; Non-Disgaea fans may miss references

Do you like platforming in your games? Do you like incredible difficulty? How about ridiculous game titles and premises? If you said yes to one or more of these, then I have the game for you. It’s called Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!...

Be ready to die a lot, dood!

Smooth animations, great presentation; Lots of unlockables

Some annoying platforming issues; Cheap enemies; Very annoying and repetitive voice samples
