poPoLoCrois PSP Review

PoPoLoCrois was originally released in Japan way back in 1996 and now ten years later, the game is making its long overdue western debut and on the shiny and significantly smaller screen of the PSP too.

The graphics, whilst old fashioned are visually appealing and as we’ve already said before of games of similar 2D breadth, they possess much more charm than 3D visuals in general. The many anime cut scenes throughout the game are also a delight to view...

Popolocrois (PSP) review

Once you Pop you can stop – 'cause of the quick save'.

It's a tad on the simplistic side but it's one of the best RPGs on the PSP even if it is just a port of a PSOne game. The automatic combat is a mixed blessing with all the easy random battles going on, but linearity of the story holds it back.

Recession left the ol? wallet feeling somewhat barron? Fear not, for ?tis time for another mosey down memory-loss lane and another peep at one of those lonely titles that time prematurely forgot

A cutesy but superb RPG. One for beginners or pros!

In many ways this is a classic JRPG like Golden Sun or Final Fantasy where you continue the adventure of the pre-rendered characters on a quest to save the world, beginning from their own sheltered home town to places they'd only heard about in...

Great characters and voices, appealing storyline, classic 2D visuals, battle cries, relaxed adventure

Terrible narrative voice-over, veteran RPG-ers would get bored very easily, little replay value, frequent loads

Good value RPG that will draw you in with its charming 2D graphics and characters but suffers from being too simple and the story too shallow. Fun, cute but still dull.

Agetec, Sony and G-Artists combined their efforts on PoPoLoCrois, the latest RPG released for Sony's PSP. Based on the console series of a couple generations of hardware ago, the game looks dated but holds a simplistic, old-school charm that saves it...

Game has a simple charm ; The dual-style battle system can appeal to tactics-style or action-style fans alike

Graphics are SNES-era, at best ; Tons of plot holes tend to annoy

PoPoLoCrois doesn’t pretend to be anything more than it is: a simple, old-school RPG with tactics-style gameplay. While not in the same class as Disgaea, PoPoLoCrois is at least worth checking out as a rental.

A decent RPG with nice art that is unfortunately hindered by painful load times.

Good graphics don't make a good game. What has become somewhat of an Achilles heel of many PSP games, the long load times really drag down the adventure. From the very beginning of the game the load times become horribly noticeable, with even the...

Ultra-cute 2-for-1.

PoPoLoCrois doesn't try to do more than it can, and it's a good thing. What's here is good, but it's not an especially lofty experience. The PSP is hurting for a good RPG right now, but sadly this isn't really it.
