PANGYA: Fantasy Golf

This colorful golf game offers so much great single-player content that it'll be weeks before you notice the lack of any online functionality.

Plays a good game of golf ; Loads of characters and collectibles to unlock ; Lengthy Story mode is a lot of fun ; Nine 18-hole courses that range from realistic to ridiculous

No online functionality ; Inconsistent AI opponents

PANGYA: Fantasy Golf

Less fantasy, more amusing

No shouts, screams, or outbursts of joy. Open your mouth and security is sure to come to pluck you from the sidelines for making a scene. Not standing out is the golden rule of the golf spectator

Rock Band: Unplugged

Harmonix and MTV Games were lucky in one respect. As opposed to Guitar Hero, which had to cut out the full band approach and hamper its product with an uncomfortable DS peripheral, Harmonix could look back to its own lineage for a solid handheld game...

Pangya: Fantasy Golf

Not bad, not bad at all

Charming characters, intriguing story, simple controls

Customization is ultimately useless, takes awhile to unlock most courses, sub-par graphics

The one thing that sets Pangya apart from its peers, are its wonderful story and charming characters. Within each episode of the three available chapters, you can play ten characters and they each have their own unique story. Each character is...

Review: Pangya: Fantasy Golf (Sony PSP)

In honor of the deed, this alternate world holds an annual festival where people from any dimension are invited to participate in a Pangya tournament, which imitates the legendary heroic act. Since the sport is basically known as golf in our reality,...

Pangya: Fantasy Golf has a lot more under its hood than merely being a Hot Shots Golf copycat. There is an expansive story, wonderful art and music and a ton of things to do thanks to its lineup of modes and unlockables. If it did copy one thing from...

Pangya : Fantasy Golf

by Leigh Bain Special Collaboration Golf hasn't changed much since the 15th century when the Scot's laid out many of the game's basic rules, equipment and traditions still used today. However, in another dimension time, there exists a magical world...

Vibrant Anime-styled graphics ; Tons of unlockables and collectables ; Other characters play more than just the forgettable NPC role ; Plenty of modes, tournaments and challenges ; Character portraits are crisp and refreshingly simplistic in detail ;...

Animations are lackluster ; Frame rate drops and slowdowns during Ad-Hoc Multiplayer ; Unpredictable AI ; Items bought in shop cannot be seen by others in Multiplayer games

Adapted from Korea’s casual golf MMO and cult classic PangYa: Fantasy Golf for the PSP entwines a fantasy story and RPG elements, with an abundance of unlockables and collectibles, and a variety characters, modes, tournaments and challenges. From...

Pangya: Fantasy Golf

Portable, anime-inspired RPG golf... go!

There isn't much in the way of voices or dialog for any of the characters in Pangya and the music and sound effects are as sugary sweet as the visuals. If you're having a bad day, the upbeat tunes will likely brighten up your mood a notch or two alone.

Pangya: Fantasy Golf

A knock-off that teaches the original a few worthwhile tricks

Lots of characters, all customizable ; Insane story mode ; Plays well

No playoff holes - you just lose ; No true online play ; Looks are only average

On the plus side, we actually like the putting green better than in Hot Shots. Plus, power-up items and limited-use special shots – such as the Spike shot, which doesn't roll when it touches down, or the Cobra, a ground-skimming shot perfect in wind –...

Pangya: Fantasy Golf Review

A fine day for golf Pangya.

Casual, well-produced golf title; At least 30+ hours of gameplay; MMO-styled progression and items; Cheerful and whimsical

Some almost impossible-to-birdie holes; Erratic AI for tournaments; No online multiplayer (aside from ad-hoc)
