Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress (PSP) review

Oh no, it's more Naruto

There's not much to enjoy in The Phantom Fortress even for someone with passion for Naruto or mini-games, or beat-'em-ups for that matter. But if you're a fan of long boring story bits, then it'll be perfect!

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress

The Phantom Fortress is full of lame minigames, occasional fights, and tons of repetition. Enter at your own risk.

Solid visual presentation ; You can play matches with a friend who doesn't own the game

The combat is recycled ; The single-player campaign is bloated and boring ; Minigames don't hold up over the course of the lengthy campaign

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phan review

It's time for a Manga explosion sports fans, over enthusiastic ninja style! The blonde haired, psychotic and mildly infectious ‘super ninja in training', Naruto, is here to carelessly run into the fray and save his beloved village from another sinister...

Hands up who wants to be a ninja and shoot energy balls from their hands.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress (PSP)

It's hard for fans of the Naruto series to keep track of the avalanche of various tie-in games. Not only are there a huge number of titles floating around (and on the way) for various platforms, but several of those titles also have different...

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2

About a year ago Sony PlayStation Portable owners received Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes. Fans of the loveable ninja cadet had something to be happy about as the series finally made the jump to Sony's handheld. If you were a long time fan of the game...

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress is a sequel to a port of a PS2 title. That means you're still playing a watered down version of a console game from over a year ago. If you don't mind that and you simply want more Naruto in your...

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress

Naruto's latest portable fighting adventure feels more like a filler episode.

Simple fighting engine allows beginners to get into the game; Game Sharing multiplayer; Mugenjo mode is lengthy

Mugenjo mode is also kinda dull; fighting engine lacks depth; no online multiplayer

Ultimately Underdeveloped

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 - The Phantom Fortress sports a long title, sure, but not much else.

It's not that Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 - The Phantom Fortress is a bad game. I'm more than happy to confess that I still got drawn in by the battle system and, for a time, exploring the fortress and seeing just how bad the "story" in the game...

NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Fortress

A nice stand-alone expansion to the original fighter makes for a tough buying decision for fans

Vast new story mode ; Giant special moves ; New characters

Quite similar to predecessor ; Nearly too hectic for strategy ; Story can get clunky

This brings us to a weird conclusion. There's not a ton of difference between this and the first Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes, but the enhancements that are here make this a notably better game than the first. We recommend it, but it's a real shame...

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 -- The Phantom Fortress

A strange phantom castle has materialized above the Hidden Leaf Village, and its presence seems to be draining the townsfolk of their energy. To unravel the mystery of the castle, and find out who's behind its power, gamers must guide Naruto through more

ultimate game

Any fan of the Naruto series wil love this game. As with the Ps2 games it still has all the perfect combos and chakra-based specials. There are two story modes, one looking through the eyes of Naruto and one as Jiraiya. There are 23 characters...
