ModNation Racers

Mario certainly never saw the need to move on from the kart, and nearly every other famous (or infamous) gaming personality has followed in his footsteps in their own kart racing title

ModNation Racers

The play mechanics sadly hold back what would be an amazing kart racer. The level of customization is vast and addictive, and the online community ensure countless hours of playtime and new content.

ModNation Racers (PS3) Review

Their newest entry with the Play. Create. Share. theme, Sony and United Front Games team up to deliver a kart racing game without the friend codes.

ModNation Racers' biggest fault by far would have to be its load times. In this day and age, having to wait two minutes for a race to load becomes pure torture. Even with the pre-load of nearly two gigabytes, it didn't seem to help the loading times at...

ModNation Racers

It's instantly apparent that what Little BIG Planet did for platforming, ModNation Racers wants to do for kart racing. The tragic thing is not that it fails, but that it almost succeeds. With this being a type of game predicated on instant...

ModNation Racers Sony PSP Review

That's not to say it doesn't impress. ModNation Racers thrives on creativity, allowing you to build a driver from a series of templates. From there, you can modify your kart to a certain degree and then build a track. Everything uses a simple user...

Superb announcing and audio effects, colorful cartoon-style visuals, track and rider creation tools are very user friendly, six-player AdHoc and online multiplayer, mostly enjoyable gameplay

Feels a bit slower than the PS3 version, drifting is harder to maintain, limited creation tools

ModNation Racers PSP is just about to pull into the garage. By this time next week, you'll be waist deep in user creation, building your ideal driver from scratch and hitting the open road against some of the more dastardly wheelers out there. It's a...

[ModNation Week] Burned Out

ModNation Racers is a fantastic game... on the PS3. On the PSP, Sony's San Diego Studio simply can't capture the magic of the game's bigger brother, and though it hits all the important bullet points, that's simply not enough.

All the sound effects are here, as is the voice work and music, and they sound quite good, but without the freedom to mix in your own music, you're left to the few tracks the game has, and those can start to grate after a few hours.
