Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

This great remake gives a timeless role-playing classic the luxury treatment.

Gorgeously remade graphics ; New story scenes fill in the blanks ; Dynamic battle system ; Excellent soundtrack

Unavoidable grind ; Mildly grating voice acting

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Review

18 years after the original, the third remake of Lunar: Silver Star is released on the PSP. Lunar: Silver Star Harmony will introduce a new generation of gamers to the story of Alex and Luna.

Replay value is present through handicap runs and other similar things you can do to play RPG's differently. It is too bad that you have to resort to such in Lunar to get a consistent challenge, but there it is.

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

Something here feels very familiar. A small-town boy with the potential to be great. A girl with the power of magic, but not the power to confess her eternal love....

Beautiful soundtrack ; Charming characters and dialogue ; Great new animation

Repetitive combat ; Painful load times ; Could’ve, with a little more effort, been the definitive Lunar

A small-town boy with the potential to be great. A girl with the power of magic, but not the power to confess her eternal love. A fat, money-hungry friend who runs away at any sign of danger.

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

It's horrible to say that and I wished I didn't have to. Above all else, it's still Lunar, one of the greatest RPGs of all time. But a developer cannot solely depend on the faded, wispy emotions of nostalgia to sell a game. If you're going to...

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

Lunar; Silver Star Harmony is an updated version of the original Sega CD RPG developed by Game Arts. The first version of the game originally on the Sega CD, but it was later released for the Saturn, PlayStation, and even had a version for the Game Boy...

Turn based gameplay holds up well and is a blast to play; memorable cast of characters and world to explore; incredible music; updated art style fits the PSP perfectly

Some dungeons are unnecessarily long and tedious; incredibly long loading times; awful voice acting

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

It should be noted that Lunar: Silver Star Harmony is one of several incarnations of the original Lunar: Silver Star Story. It's been released on several platforms, such as the Sega Saturn, Playstation and Game Boy Advance. The main gameplay takes...

A classic RPG experience ; Great graphics ; Fantastic anime cut-scenes ; Simple but solid gameplay

Combat can be repetitive ; Annoying load times ; Linear character progression ; Overall mechanics seem a bit dated

Silver Star Harmony is a nifty little title for anyone who still holds classic Japanese RPGs close to their heart. Everything from the story to the game mechanics screams old school, which can be both a blessing and a curse. The fundamentals are...

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Sony PSP Review

The game is available both digitally through the PlayStation Network and as a special edition package at retail, including "bromide" collector cards and a CD soundtrack. We suggest going the retail route, because this soundtrack will blow you away.

The art style and soundtrack are the best in the Lunar series, the story will keep you intrigued, new scenes help answer questions

Battle system shows its age, no multiplayer connectivity

Although the Sega CD doesn't have many first-rate titles (damn you, Slam City With Scottie Pippen), the Lunar games stand out. Working Designs took good care of this franchise with two releases on the console, with a humorous writing style, engaging...

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony

Lunar is the videogame equivalent of a summer vacation. It's free of complication, full of careless fun, over before you know it, and easily lends itself to nostalgia. Trading up in the presentation department and considerably down in gameplay, Silver...

Yay, another Lunar remake!? Let's call this one… Silver Star Story Silver Star Story Complete Lunar Legend Silver Star Harmony

Not the definitive Lunar update, but the timelessness of the gameplay, story, and music wrapped up in a shiny new package make it easy to see why Lunar is widely regarded as one of the greatest RPG's of all time.
