My track record with puzzle games is incredibly mixed. Initial experiments with Tetris and Columns proved relatively successful and I quite happily managed to amass what I thought were pretty handy scores during some epically long gaming sessions....

A dynamic puzzle game from the twisted genius behind Rez and Space Channel 5, Lumines is to the PSP what Tetris was to the Game Boy.

None

It’s a shame but Lumines isn’t the Tetris heir that we hoped it would be.

Puzzlers are not for everyone, but I strongly recommend you give Lumines a try. Quite simply it's not just the best puzzler on the PSP, but one of the best puzzlers of all time.

Awesome soundtrack ; Addictive gameplay

No single disc wireless ; No single disc wireless

Puzzlers are not for everyone, but I strongly recommend you give Lumines a try. Quite simply it's not just the best puzzler on the PSP, but one of the best puzzlers of all time. Beating you high scores will keep you coming back for more, as will the...

I was Seven, it was snowing outside, the fire was burning bright, there were presents under a Christmas tree, the tree sadly was dying due to lack of water, but that is a story for another day! I rushed to open presents brought by the jolly man in a...

With a fantastic selection of memorable catchy tunes moulded together with a simple easy to learn and addictive gameplay, Lumines is the perfect game for a handheld whether you have just ten minutes or a long two hours to kill.

If it were legal, I would marry Tetsuya Mizuguchi.

Flawless design ; Flawless presentation ; Diverse, mesmerizing soundtrack ; Near infinite replayability thanks to multiplayer, unlockables, and the depth of the Challenge mode ; No room for improvement, not just of the game but also the genre itself

Playing as much as you would like would probably kill you ; Eventually, you will have to blink

If Tetris is the soul of gaming, then what is Tetris' transdimensional, perfect form? It's Lumines and I've have never seen a 10 look so insufficient.

Created by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the same man that brought us Space Channel 5 and Rez, Lumines is a quirky title for the PSP that incorporates smooth techno music into a quick, addictive falling-block based puzzler.

Many critics of the PSP have targeted its software line-up, saying that the games offered on the new handheld are too unoriginal or uninspired. If what they are saying is true, then Lumines stands out as a beacon of hope, a glorious light. Lumines...

A certain contingent of gamers would have you believe that video gaming is an artform unto itself: a medium for creative expression every bit as worthy of critical study and respect as film or literature. More conservative types suggest the day is...
