Kingdom of Paradise on PSP

Paradise on PSP?

Most surprisingly in Kingdom of Paradise, and it is a pleasant surprise indeed, are the multiplayer aspects of the game. Although limited, they are a nice touch - the main multiplayer feature that allows you to play with other players comes in the form...

Kingdom of Paradise

There's something about the mix of swordplay and Eastern environments that speaks of a great backdrop for a game. Maybe it's the fast paced hacking and slashing by skilled swordsmen or going up against numerous opponents at the same time that's...

It's great to see an additional RPG on the PSP, since there's only been two others released for the portable platform. If you can forgive the button mashing simplicity and the other hiccups of the fighting system, you'll find an enjoyable action RPG...

Kingdom of Paradise

Kingdom of Paradise is an action adventure role playing game for the PSP gaming unit. It offers a solid story that should be entertaining the first time through and also a lot of leeway for the gamer to enjoy it. The quick version of the story is...

* This game requires your PSP's firmware to be at least version 2.00. The UMD disc contains an installer for version 2.00.

Kingdom of Paradise Review

Sony delivers a quality PSP adventure that's worth checking out.

An oversight by the editor reviewing this title regarding the blocking system led to an edit of this review. The review score has been changed to reflect this oversight.

Kingdom of Paradise

Following the trail blazed by Untold Legends on PSP, Sony's latest action RPG adventure for their handheld system is Kingdom of Paradise, a game that goes great lengths to look and feel like a PS2 title. Yet, unlike many early PSP titles, Kingdom of...

Great eye-candy title ; Deep story offering well over 20 hours of game play

Really hard battles offered early into the game, before you even know the controls ; Triangle button triggers use of a readied item; might be best not to ready any healing potions, or you’ll waste ‘em ; Game isn’t very balanced, which is a shame

Kingdom of Paradise is addictive fun if you can overcome the handful of negatives early on.

Kingdom of Paradise

Sony hits us with a portable martial arts action/RPG. Do we smile and take it, or punch back?

Collecting new moves from downed enemies is entertaining and clever; does pretty well in both audio and visual categories; downloadable content

Controls are sorely lacking, with one-button attacks and that same button for defense; main character Shinbu is king of the weenies

Kingdom of Paradise

To say that the PSP has had an extremely rough start out of the gate would really be an understatement, as it is in dire need of more original and

Kingdom of Paradise is a game that I would just classify as an extremely solid title that deserves a lot of credit for just doing everything it needed to correctly. The gameplay is good, the sound is good, and the presentation is good. The game may not...

Kingdom of Paradise review for the PSP

Paradise lost.

Cool fighting system; Swordfights look neat

Train wreck of a story; Thin RPG elements; Awful audio; Overpowered Chi Arts

It's really a shame that a game with so much depth in its combat system turns up so thin everywhere else. It's the exact opposite of Untold Legends, but that doesn't make it a great deal better. Looks like my subway ride stays in Purgatory.

Kingdom of Paradise Sony PSP Review

The game focuses on a young hero named Shinbu who finds himself on a quest that will take him across the land, one that will have him team up with a fellow martial arts student and face sinister forces that may or may not be responsible for the death...

A cool combo system, a great voice cast, and tons of extras keep this one going

The camera system can be a bit tricky, and some gameplay falls flat

I wouldn't exactly call the handheld action/role-playing market "dire" by any means. After all, the Game Boy Advance has a few RPG's to its credit that easily fit into that mold, and the Nintendo DS is obviously gathering some adventures all its own....

Kingdom of Paradise

The PSP gets it's first worthy RPG with the unique Kingdom of Paradise.

There are also a few special features to be had in the way of the PSP's wifi system, such as trading Kenpu with a friend, or doing a short battle match with an online opponent. The battle arena will balance out the stats between you and your opponent,...
