Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Chinatown Wars doesn't attempt to fully duplicate the console GTA experience, and the end result is a much better game than what PSP owners have received in the past.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Being old enough to fondly remember the original top down PC versions of GTA I'll admit to feeling a warm nostalgic glow when Rockstar announced they were returning to a similar approach for the franchise's DS debut. So impressive was the resulting...

It' is hardly a surprise that the PSP version of Chinatown Wars is a success; this is Rockstar after all and they are quite good at this GTA lark. What is impressive is that it loses nothing in the translation and ends up a better game than both the...

Review: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (PSP)

Rockstar's DS smash hit makes the jump to PlayStation Portable.

Great Grand Theft Auto ‘feel’ – this is Liberty City in the palm of your hands ; Fantastic graphics – probably the PSP's best looking third-party title ; Massive lifespan – lengthy mission, lots of sidequests and a great multiplayer selection

It’s the same storyline as the DS version – you might have played this before ; Occasionally troublesome AI – failing a mission isn't always your fault ; No voice acting – and the radio stations could have done with a bit of a bump, too

New York, Liberty City, wherever. As is the par for Rockstar and their Grand Theft Auto view of the world, Chinatown Wars offers a glimpse into a desperate, flea-ridden pit of crime – a microcosm viewed through the scope of a rocket launcher and as...

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (PSP) review

Bigger, badder and better: Chinatown Wars finally comes to the PSP...

A great mixture of some of the best elements of the old top-down GTA games and the modern instalments. Bar some combat control issues, Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars has perfectly translated to the PSP and is a must-have game.

Hands on with Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on PSP

It seems Rockstar Leeds did everything right with

That's not the reason for bringing the game to PSP, though

Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

Perhaps it's not so good to make a game for one platform, shunt it to another and then another? That's just what we're getting with Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars on the iPad.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Liberty City - the location familiar to many GTA fans and this is the location of GTA: Chinatown Wars, recently released on PSP. GTA: Chinatown Wars was exclusively released on DS quite a while ago and critically acclaimed. It was an excellent game...

Bright Lights, Big City

Don't let the top-down angle fool you; Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars does Liberty City on a massive scale. Oh, and it's awesome to boot.

It should be noted that all those GPS and weapon ordering bits can all be done through the game's amazingly dense PDA. It's a little clunky to use at first (though you can map whatever functions you use most to the L and R Buttons, a nice touch), but...

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was the first GTA handheld game released on the Nintendo DS before the Sony PSP, but now after more than half a year of waiting, Chinatown Wars is finally on the PSP. If you count all the Grand Theft Auto games...

Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is the biggest and most ambitious handheld GTA game ever, and the production values really show in the PSP port, with its vastly improved graphics and audio. However, it’s still plagued with GTA 3 era problems such as...
