Gangs of London

When you boot up your PSP and you side-step the main story for the mini-games, you know you've got a problem. Gangs of London is a poor attempt at a game that could have been so much more.

Blimey, gov', this one's a bit of a muppet

Initially promising, many expected Sony's release to deliver the goods – a reasonable assumption given that the company has a mostly enviable track record when it comes to work produced in-house. In addition, we presume it's also very aware of the...

Gangs Of London (2006)

Essentially a portable version of The Getaway, Gangs Of London thrusts players into a stylised polygonal city where you can team up with other lawbreakers, steal cars and take pot-shots at cockney hoodlums. But while Sony’s gangster series has...

Gangs Of London (PSP) review

The price of respect is a bullet...

Gangs Of London is not particularly good or particularly bad. It hits all its targets accurately enough, but none so dead-on as to be memorable. Mini-games add to the value, but still can’t elevate this to anything like an essential purchase.

Gangs of London Preview

Time to hit the streets of London with Gangs of London for the PSP. The title is much like the previously released The Getaway titles for the PS2. Immerse yourself and become part of an elite criminal underworld. Now you can control a team of...

Gangs of London

The emerging theory that Gangs of London's gameplay is less fun if its graphics are more impressive is backed up by the game's free-roaming mode. Here, the mission stories are stripped and a seven of city-wide mini-games take its place. There's the...

Gangs of London

Well, here's one way to develop a game. Borrow some of your favorite elements from a bunch of other games, stir, simmer for a while and hope it all turns out all right. That's the approach Sony Europe's London studio seems to have taken with Gangs of...

Umm… ok, I guess we can say that the voice acting didn’t stink

But most everything else did

Gangs of London would get wasted in the opening cinema of any Grand Theft Auto game. Although it strives to be all things to all gamers, it comes off as little more than a sad mess of something half-digested, in the final analysis.

Gangs of London

Taking to the mean streets of London is the Gangs of London by the same team that brought you The Getaway. This time around however we are taking part in one of the five main gangs in London and carrying out the dirty work as required by our bosses.

Gangs of London for PSP

A value-packed game, but the appeal of the main story is hampered by sloppy controls and repetitive missions

Everyone else should probably give this one a wide berth – or pay an actualvisit to London.

Gangs of London Sony PSP Review

Excellent variety of multiplayer-enabled minigames

Main game itself is pretty much awful

Gangs of London is the worst game I've ever given a positive review. I can explain.
