The PSP, along with the DS, has sort of been a last haven for Japanese RPGs. Companies like Atlus, XSEED, and Aksys Games have kept these handhelds, as well as the abovementioned genre, alive by continuing to feed American gamers with some its best...

Visually though, the game looks very sharp. The characters models and art all look strikingly accurate and really capture the games anime essence, especially in combat. In fact combat, has some of the best looking visuals I've seen in a PSP game. Sadly...

Fate/Extra Review

Were it not for its great boss fights and fascinating story, repetitiveness and sparse exploration might have derailed Fate/Extra.

Interesting plot ; Great boss fights ; Some strategic emphasis

Primitive exploration ; Highly repetitive ; Annoying save system ; Forgettable presentation

Review: Fate/Extra for PSP

How real is virtual reality? If you can see, feel and touch it, does it still count as virtual? If the events that happen there result in gaining the one thing you've always wanted most in the world, does that make it more authentic? What if your...

Deep storyline with multiple endings, three different servants to choose from, interesting blend of visual novel and RPG, looks really good on the PSP and you can customize your servant. There are multiple difficulty levels. There’s a new game plus...

Can get a little confusing if you’re unfamiliar with the Fate/ world. It’s possible to be overleveled and still lose in a battle against a dungeon enemy due to the battle system. Difficult to tell if you’ve chosen a right or wrong answer when talking...

Review: Fate/Extra (PSP)

Despite some fundamental flaws in its combat and a penchant for verbose prose, Fate/Extra is an intriguing RPG experience that should appeal to fans of the Fate franchise.

Cool mix of shooting and RPG strategy; crisp, well-done 16-bit pixel art

Only takes a couple of hours to beat; limited gameplay wears thin towards the end; running out of items mid-way forces a restart

Fate/Extra Playtest: An Exploration of Possibilities In An Unlikely Setting

Most of the cast in Fate/Extra is new. Other than Archer, all the Servants are. For example, Shinji's partner is no longer the Rider from Stay Night, but a new face.

4.) In one of the routes, there’s a very familiar Servant. She’s blond and her name begins with ‘A’ and ends in ‘D.’

Fate/Extra- PSP

If you are seeking an adventure that brings a little more to the table in the story department and don't mind the trek through 40 plus hours of gameplay, Fate/Extra, in the end, might just be what you are looking for.

Fate/Extra- PSP

Fate/Extra's gameplay faces some serious hurdles. Repetitive combat and an annoying save system test your patience, while lackluster dungeons add to the tedium. Great boss battles aside, there are simply better dungeon crawlers out there. This one may...
