Vivitek H5080 DLP Projector

The most all-round Vivitek projector yet.

It feels like almost every projector I see right now progresses the quality of home cinema projection forward in some way. And the H5080 is no exception, delivering black levels and colours in particular that are pretty revelatory on a sub-£3k...

Vivitek H5080 review

Vivitek fills the gap between its appealing budget and high-end projector ranges

Tidily designed ; Three HDMi inputs ; Excellent contrast and colour performance

Runs slightly loud ; A little video noise during dark scenes

Vivitek H5080 review

Vivitek's H5080 is the biggest DLP projector we've ever reviewed. Unlike most large projectors it's glossy, curved and quite attractive. We were even more surprised to find a set of lens shift controls hidden beneath a flap at the top of the projector...

Vivitek H5080

This review has been a long time in coming. I've been receiving requests to review this projector, since about the time we published the Optoma HD8600. These two projectors are very similar, as they are coming off the same assembly lines. They are...

One of the brightest home theater projectors we've reviewed in the last year ; Very sharp image (typical of a good DLP projector with good quality optics), with a slightly sharper overall image than any of the LCD or LCoS projectors ; Excellent color,...

One of the noisier projectors out there. They say 28 db and 33 db (in low and high power). I believe them, and those aren't impressive numbers ; CFI - Creative frame interpolation: does not work with 1080 60fps, which means most broadcast HDTV sports,...

For those of us who seek great black level performance, this projector can still be tempting, especially in the right room, paired with the right (probably high contrast gray) screen
