Viewsonic PJ358 projector

Viewsonic has recently expanded their range of projectors quite considerably; we have one on test here in the reasonably priced PJ358. It's touted at mobile workers or businessmen, but its strengths, which include a short throw lens, help it double up...

Fast startup and shutdown, range of effective settings for improving quality, large display with short throw lens, HD up to 1080i

Poor contrast ratio, video playback only really possible in dark environments, better suited for occasional use

All in all this is a pretty well featured projector for the price, but if you’re looking for something to use intensively, particularly in the case of video playback, you might find it a bit of a strain on the eyes. The PJ358’s strengths lie in the...

Viewsonic - PJ358

This LCD projector is available from Viewsonic as the PJ358 and also as the Hitachi CP-X1, although you pay nearly £100 extra for the Hitachi logo. Oh, except that the Hitachi is silver and the Viewsonic ...

This LCD Viewsonic projector displays a good image and is also quiet in operation. Those are two key factors that make it well worth consideration, while the low price is a distinct bonus that plays heavily in its favour.

The PJ358 doesn't have the best performance on the market but it remains a fairly good projector considering its price tag.

Good video performance, excellent colour reproduction, USB photo slide show, good price tag

Image quality problems, over-sharpening, overly bright, unattractive design

Light Bright!

The picture/movie viewing capability is an interesting feature, but is pretty useless IMO. It sounds cool on paper (Hey, I can hook up a USB drive with pictures and have it play a slideshow... oh wait, my PC can do that too...) but it could have been...

Very lightweight and bright. It ran for 12 hours straight at my LAN party and was a real crowd pleaser. Great colors and saturation even with medium flourescent lighting and indirect skylights overhead

No digital input. No RCA audio input/output. Inadequate documenation on how to use the USB picture/movie viewer
