Sharp XV-Z21000 review

One of the first Full HD DLP projectors makes its mark

Excellent picture ; Features ; Remote control

Sizeable unit ; Some picture noise

Its Full HD credentials make the XV-Z21000 a good option for anyone with an eye on the future

Sharp XV-Z21000

The current clamour for 'Full HD' hasn't exactly worked in DLP's favour, as squeezing 1920 x 1080 pixels into a DLP DMD device seems tougher - and more expensive - than fitting the same resolution into an LCD or LCOS/DILA/SXRD device

Good connections, Excellent picture quality

Not as cheap as Full HD LCD projectors, Slight noise issues

Excellent performance, and highly recommended if the price doesn't sound like a lot

Sharp XV-Z21000

Sharp's XV-Z21000 is a top performer among 1080p projectors, and delivers a solid feature package and sleek design to boot.

SHARP XVZ21000

Excellent image quality. Very good black levels and shadow detail. Excellent ANSI contrast.Excellent optics. Gives the impression of being a well engineered quality built product. For my taste a pleasing design. Vertical lens shift.

High fan noise even on the low lamp setting. Some doubt as to whether the image will be bright enough as the lamp reaches the higher hours of use, but probably ok on my 92" diagonal unity gain screen.

Great value for money - good spec and high quality image.
