Philips PicoPix PPX 1430 review

Do you need a pico projector? Probably not, unless you're contractually obliged to deliver the same Powerpoint presentation on the state of the rubber hosing industry to audiences in Swindon, Nottingham, Leeds and Blackpool within a nine-hour window...

Philips PicoPix 1430 review

The PicoPix is a cute projector which looks like a miniature version of a standard projector, much like BenQ's Joybee GP1 (see What's New, Shopper 262). It uses an LED lamp and LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology to project a 52in diagonal...

It may be cute, but the PicoPix's image suffers heavily from the rainbow effect, and you'll need an adaptor for VGA.

This mini projector is fabulous and its great for showing off to family and friends. I can show them photos and videos straight from the camera or via the SD card. I can also transfer files from my laptop to the projector or to SD cards to play other...

As long as the lights are down it projects fine - not so good in broad day light but fine in subdued lighting.

LIght weight, neat, includes a tripod stand.Very quiet. Was compatible with my laptop and the powerpoint presentation.

Poor picture, needs a very dark room to give any image definition. Not suitable for public presentations. May be ok for home use.

It's small, compact and lightweight Very easy to use Quiet compared to large projectors

Useless in the day time!! Good image in dark environment. No HDMI compatability. VGA from a pc didn't even work for me.

Philips PicoPix 1430

Compact and easy to carry. If life of LEDs is as promised, this will be a very good point.

Instructions not explicit enough for someone like myself, not very familiar with technology. The need to purchase special cable to operate with laptop and use Powerpoint. I hope there will not be any other compatibility issues. Not very sensible case....
