Optoma HD800X LV review

This Optoma is an affordable projector that fires out a fine picture for the money

Produces deep blacks and rich colours ; good detail ; lack of noise

Can find fast movement tricky ; could dig up more detail in dark scenes

An affordable projector that fires out a fine picture for the money

Optoma HD800XLV review

The HD800XLV is a good-looking projector, with a silver case and the lens assembly poking out of the wedge-shaped front.

Optoma HD800X review

With a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, pictures on the Optoma HD800X are exquisite. You’ll be hard pushed to find any better in all honesty, but that’s not to say it’s top of the projector pile. Like the Sanyo PLV–Z700, connectivity is a plus, with two HDMIs,...

Sadly you cannot shift the lens on the Optoma HD800X, meaning you’ll need to find a fixed position from which to throw the picture. This is a particular letdown, especially as Sanyo and InFocus models will let you do just that, for around the same...

Optoma HD800XLV

Clear bright image with good contrast. Excellent up-scaling from standard DVD resolution. Backlit remote control so can see to make image adjustments in the dark.

Difficult to mount high enough in a normal room for ceiling mounting. Long throw, so need very large room to project an image greater than 100inch diagonal (of which it is quite capable). Manual zoom and focus.

easy setup , excellent picture (blu-ray required) @ 92" ! All for little more than a budget price.

No real siutable kits to suspend from ceiling (separate bracket kit not deep enough for our requirements, had to be modified)
