InFocus IN82 review

Stunning looks and a Full HD chipset make this projector a formidable new debut

Stylish design ; Good picture quality

Can exaggerate MPEG noise in weak sources ; Runs noisily

Aside from a few small issues, this is a great high performance HD projector, well worth the price for its excellent picture quality

InFocus IN82 DLP Projector

If InFocus' previous successes in our tests are anything to go by, its first full-HD DLP projector should be most excellent.

Even the HD Ready glories of the previously tested InFocus IN76 and IN78 models scarcely prepared us for the stellar achievement of the company's first full HD offering. We guess you can better the IN82 if money's really no object at all - by spending,...

InFocus IN82 review

InFocus has returned with a scintillating Full HD projector, which looks set to give many pricier projectors a major scare

Exceptional performance coupled to fine spec, styling and ease-of-use – and not even particularly expensive, given what it can do. A stunning buy

InFocus IN82

Scintillating performance for a very fair price a steal

All the familiar InFocus strengths, but with an even better picture

Off-air TV doesn't look so great, but that's fair enough at this price

InFocus IN82

The superbly spendy IN82 is made by projector specialists InFocus and is capable of throwing out a full-HD image on any wall in your house with no discernable lack in quality, thanks largely to a manual adjustable iris that can sacrifice brightness for...

Sexy, black styling and excellent picture quality. Manual adjusting iris

Noisy fan, and have you seen the price

An excellent DLP projector that throws out high quality images like we throw out metaphors, only missing out on top marks because of the weighty price tag.

InFocus IN82

The InFocus IN82 is a full-HD DLP projector with 4,000:1 boosting to 12,000:1 with a manual iris. On-board Pixelworks DNX 10-bit video processing includes upscaling, de-interlacing and full support for 2:35:1 aspect ratios (needs an anamorphic lens)...

Chucking down three grand on a telly might seem like the height of folly but there are actually far more frivolous purchases out there. Fabergé eggs, for instance, don’t even make a nice omelette. A very bright, very serious, very luxury purchase....

Infocus IN82

A remarkably talented full HD DLP projector

The IN82 makes a strong impression right away, thanks to its distinctive rounded design and jet black colour. And it builds on this with some striking specifications, including two digital video inputs, a remarkably high brightness of 1500 ANSI Lumens,...

InFocus IN82

The IN82 is InFocus's first locally available 1080p home theatre projector. It features a new Texas Instruments DarkChip3 DLP chipset, a new design and settings for ISF calibration.

Outlook The US projector specialist has finally caught up with its Taiwanese and Japanese competitors by releasing the AU$9,999 Play Big IN82. However, at such high pricing, it will tough for the company to recapture lost ground. To make matters worse,...

InFocus IN82

Scintillating performance but at a high price. It's this thrilling blend of affordability, flexibility and (above all) capability that makes the IN82 so special. Nothing else we've tested at this price gets close.

InFocus Home IN82 Review

The IN82 is a strong option for those who wish to have their theaters designed and installed by professionals.

The InFocus IN82 is overall a solid projector, though its price tag is steep compared to products with similar performance in open distribution. Clearly the IN82 can be a great solution for lights-on parties. It is a strong option for those who wish to...
