Hitachi PJ-TX200 review

The right performance, the right price, the right stuff

Design ; Sharpness ; Brightness ; Price

Black level bettered by DLP ; Best contrast only achieved at expense of brightness

One of the finest LCD HD Ready projectors this side of £2k

Hitachi Cine Master PJ-TX200 review

Hitachi's new projector aims to set a new benchmark

Image clarity ; design ; HD Ready connectivity

Occasional 'chicken wire' effect ; care needed with setup

If you're after the best visual bang for your buck, then the TX200 is a convincing proposition

Hitachi PJ-TX200

This is the first of two LCD models in our group - but you wouldn't know it from its specifications. LCD is generally not considered able to deliver contrast as well as rival DLP, yet here we've got an LCD model claiming an astonishing contrast ratio...

Superb pictures, loads of features, good looks, great price under the circumstances

Nothing much

The Hitachi PJ-TX200 is not the best projector on the market but it is certainly a very good projector for those who value image quality and design.

Nice design, Short throw distance, Good image quality.

Very hot, Potentially hazardous power connector.

Hitachi PJ-TX200

If you're looking for value for money in a stylish package, Hitachi's PJ-TX200 LCD projector may suit you.

Good image quality ; Stylish design

Heavier than competing models ; Unit can get quite hot

We did notice the unit getting quite hot after just a short period of use. Though not afraid of a meltdown, by the end of a movie we felt it necessary to turn off the power and let it cool.

ATTRACTIVE DESIGN AND SOLID PERFORMANCE

There's no doubt that the TX200 is one of the finest LCD HD Ready projectors, and well worth considering if you want a machine that's as accomplished with PCs as it is movies. Nice one Hitachi.

The curves and elegant design of Hitachi's PJ-TX200 are complimented by an opulent high-gloss finish, extravagant grilles and an stylish colour scheme ; The projector's connections are solid enough, featuring the de rigeur HDMI and component jacks for...

A concern about the TX200 is that using the projector's 'Auto2' iris mode can cause the picture's brightness to leap about quite distractingly. So avoid it

A PROJECTOR WORTH EVERY LAST PENNY.

Hitachi really have come up with the goods in the TX200. The images it produces really are something to savour. Especially Hi-Def. Colours are rich without being overdone, black levels are outstanding, and picture clarity (with the right feed) is...

Picture quality. Very quiet. Easy to use.

RGB scart would've been nice. Older PC games prefer VGA socket over HDMI.

THE BEST PROJ UNDER 1500 BAR NONE.

The picture this projector produces will just blow you away when you first see it. Also the best black level I have Seen on a LCD proj. I saw the sanyo Z4 and the Hitachi is miles better. (the Z4 was good but seemed to have unnatural skin tones and...

Excellent resolution and sharp picture. Good black level. Easy placment. Good

some slight image smearing on pure reds and greens. Seems to only affect HDMI input.

Hitachi PJ-TX200

After extensive research and lengthy side-by-side comparison I chose this unit over the Panasonic AE900 because it simply has a better picture. To me the Panasonic is just too soft where the Hitachi is sharper, more detailed and as a result appears to...

Amazing picture quality ; Much sharper image than Panasonic AE900 ; Ridiculously good value for money

Dynamic Iris is highly overrated and slow to react
