Not Sand Proof

First I would like to point out that I bought this camera at Blacks Photography, not Newegg, but thought that everyone should be aware of the sand issue. It was a nice camera and worked well until a shallow sand infested wave touched it. Now it is junk.

Worked as it should.

It is advertised to be sealed against sand. The inside is. However, the door locking mechanism does not like sand at all and jams right up. By the time you get the door unlocked, it is in pieces rendering the camera useless. One micro spec of plastic...

IF you want clear high quality still pictures look for another camera.

The fact that it's water proof. can take it out to the lake or even in the rain w/o worry. And takes clear video.

This is a great camera for [the price]. The pictures that it takes are amazing, and the videos. Even the underwater pictures and videos are great. The design is great and easy to use.

I originally bought this camera late last year, but within the first 5 mins I went into the water, the trap door opened and the battery disappeared into the ocean. I sent a couple e-mails to the customer service department at Fujifilm, and was...
