Epson MovieMate 25 LCD Projector review: Epson MovieMate 25 LCD Projector

Epson MovieMate 25 LCD Projector

Includes screen; integrated DVD player and speakers; attractive styling; excellent integration of functions; quick setup; two-way mechanical lens shift.

Not bright enough; visible screen-door effect; can't resolve full DVD resolution; cannot accept HD or computer sources; no handle; runs hot.

Nothing short of a complete theater--including speakers and screen--Epson's MovieMate 25 does it all, although it's not as bright as we'd like.

Extras Boost Epson's Projector/DVD Combo

The bulky MovieMate 25 outshines strong competition.

This projector is a great buy for its tempting extras--if you can put up with its large size.

Epson MovieMate 25

Unlike the Optoma, which in some ways offers more features, but focuses on being a projector with built in speakers and DVD player, Epson has approached the MovieMate 25 as a real home entertainment system, making sure its viable to view photos,...

Excellent color accuracy ; Bright image ; Multiple presets for different room environments and sources ; Good quality sound ; Extremely easy to use ; Easy to hook up ; Great price performance ; Horizontal and vertical lens shift, for easy placement ;...

Lacks component inputs or digital (DVI/HDMI) ; Remote is not backlit (glow in the dark keys just don't glow bright enough) ; Pixels are more visible than competing products using DLP technology - making screen door effect more likely if you sit close....

If you have that $1000 or so, you will be hard pressed to go wrong with the Epson MovieMate 25

Plasma "Shlasma" Get a projector instead!

After seeing the outrageous prices, as well as the images on the LCD and Plasma tvs in the stores - which leave MUCH to be desired btw (even when they're properly calibrated)I decided to go projector after reading about the 2 newest "all in one" deals...

ALL IN ONE, affordable & comes with a free 80 inch screen and subwoofer

Bulky, no handle

Removes hassle of extra equipment and sounds great

I've had no problems bringing this over to friends houses to view on their walls, on curtains or at home on the screen that comes with it. We have a streetlight outside our house and mini blinds and the picture is still bright enough to enjoy.

Extremely easy to set up. Perfect for rented movies on the go

No carrying case or handle

Nice Unit

We have watched a few movies on this and are extremely satisfied. Sound fills the room and the brightness on a regular wall is good.
