BenQ W6000 review

Its high maximum brightness means the BenQ W6000 doesn't have to be confined to a home cinema room to provide good picture quality, as it performs competently in a well-lit environment as well.

We didn't have many problems when using the BenQ W6000. Its high brightness eliminates most of our complaints with home cinema projectors and it produces sharp, clean images with good contrast. It is versatile enough to be used in the daytime when your...

BenQ W6000 review

BenQ's latest foray into the projector market is a great machine that's a solid all-rounder. But is it as good as its peers?

Vibrant yet balanced colours ; excellent punch and purity of whites ; flexible, easy-to-use design

Others offer greater detail and black depth ; motion’s a little smeary

BenQ’s latest is a solid all-rounder that’s just held back from five stars by some even better competition

Colour inaccuracies on screen and inaccurate skin tones out of the box ; Black levels are lacking against the competition ; Lack of dynamic range in the lower reaches, with a lack of shadow detail ; Noisy fan and iris ; Not the most cinematic or...

Very nice! The W6000 is a worthy successor to the older W5000. It comes at you with slightly better black level performance, far more lumens, and the same razor sharp image as the older W5000. Rainbows seem less visible, a definite improvement for...

BenQ W6000

A most impressive projector overall, the BenQ W6000 projector is extremely bright in its best movie mode, but as of our original posting still had one issue to be resolved, relating to its dynamic iris

Pretty good "out of the box" picture quality (with Brilliant Color off) ; Really good color accuracy post calibration in "best" mode ; Very good black levels, but not up to the very best under $3500 projectors ; Razor sharp image ; Extremely bright, as...

Dynamic iris is rough at times, could use some improvement (not a deal breaker, but a point of consideration/trade-off) NOTE: This point is now replaced (11/23) with a positive comment about the iris, in the Pros section above ; Can't fully adjust the...

BenQ's built another really fine projector, with an excellent set of strengths. Truly it's a top contender in its price range, and, I believe, the strongest player among the similarly priced DLP home theater projectors. With the further improved...
