BenQ PE8700

Simply one of the biggest projectors we have seen in the Test Centre, the PE8700 has dimensions of 400 x 347 x 116mm and weighs approximately 7.5kgs. ...

Intuitive and easy interface, long lamp life

A well-designed projector targeted firmly at the home theatre enthusiast. Only really suitable for permanent installations.

BenQ PE8700+ DLP video projector

The HD2+ differs from the HD2 in one significant way. All earlier TI imaging chips had a small dimple in the center of each micromirror, where the stalk that supports the mirror attaches. TI has filled in these dimples in the HD2+ chip, which in theory...

BenQ PE8700+ DLP video projector

I was mighty impressed by BenQ's PE8700 DLP projector, reviewed in the June 2004 UAV. Now its replacement, the PE8700+, has been launched, and it's no letdown. True, the price has gone up a couple of big ones over the PE8700's closeout price of $6000....

BenQ PE8700 DLP video projector

BenQ PE8700 DLP video projector

The PE8700 DLP projector from BenQ has to qualify as the surprise product of early 2004. The first surprise is that it's made by a company I'd barely heard of before late last year. But with a claimed 13,000 employees worldwide, BenQ isn't exactly...

BenQ PE8700 -- Outstanding Value in Home Theater Projectors

The BenQ PE8700 represents this company's first entry into the higher end home theater arena. Featuring the popular Mustang/HD2 DLP chip from Texas Instruments, the PE8700 is a native 16:9 widescreen format projector with 1280x720 resolution.

Currrently there are about a dozen high-performance projectors on the market featuring the 1280x720 HD2 DLP chip. Prices run from upwards of $16,000 all the way down to under $8,000. The BenQ PE8700 has an MSRP of $7,995, and is selling for street...

Excellent

Excellent projector with phenomenol picture especially with HD source. Much better integrated picture than LCD projectors with no visible pixel structure.

Outstanding picture quality! Excellent colour performance. HD performance is without peer. Able to see picture even with lights on.
