3M MPro110 review

The concept of a palm-sized projector is an exciting one, but the MPro110 doesn't quite deliver the goods

The concept of a palm-sized projector is an exciting one

Performance is as hobbled as we suspected it might be

Your choice is stark: buy a proper, full-size projector that delivers decent images or buy a thrillingly small projector that, um, doesn’t

3M Micro Professional Projector MPro110

Pico projectors are the new buzz word in mobile projection technology. Does this one from 3M live up to the hype?

Impossibly small and with some neat touches, but the MPro110 shows that pico projector technology is not yet ready for the market.

3M MPro110

The 3M MPro110 is the second-smallest projector on the planet, and the smallest (so far) that will work with a computer.

Fits in a shirt pocket. Connects to computers and composite video sources. Rechargeable battery.

Low brightness limits useful image size. No audio. Does not come with a cable for connecting to an iPod.

3M MPro110

This pocket-size projector impresses with its small size but is otherwise a work in progress.

Extremely small and light ; Can run on an internal battery

Extremely dim ; Low resolution ; Hard to focus ; Gets very warm

With the MPro110, 3M certainly achieved a technological success. We look forward to seeing the second or third iteration of this design, particularly one with an onboard flash memory drive for showing laptop-less slideshows. For now, however, we...

3M MPro110 Pico Projector

The 3M MPro110 pocket projector is so small and light that it could easily fit into an actual shirt pocket. Even with its included rechargeable battery, this device weighs just a few ounces and is barely larger than the remote controls of many other...

3M MPro110

With three of these pico projectors in-house, it immediately becomes clear that these early pico projectors tend to be separated not so much by actual performance, but by features

Colors tend to be oversaturated, gamma high (dark image), and too blue. Skin tones are dark ; No image controls ; Very limited brightness - suitable only for small screen viewing - maximum size is about 48 inches diagonal. Even if you want to go a bit...

If you love to be the first to play with new technology, these pico projectors are right up your alley, as they say. If you have a compelling need for a tiny projector, and a real computer input, then, to date, the 3M MPro110, is not only the "best...

3M Mpro110

3M's MPro110 is the second ultra-portable projector to find its way into the WinLabs and, like the Optoma Pico PK101, is designed for business professionals

3M's first ultra-portable falls short of the mark due to its basic performance, iffy build and high price.
