Epson's eight-ink UltraChrome K3 ink system makes for great photo and portrait prints.
Epson has had an enviable reputation for its medium and wide-format photo printers for many years and the Stylus Photo R2880 continues this tradition. Epson has concentrated on the areas most photographers will buy medium-format photo printers for, and...
Allied with this is the versatility of multiple paper paths, roll paper handling and direct print of CDs and DVDs. Although a little more expensive than some of its rivals, our tests would say it's worth the extra outlay.

No large format photo printer is easy to use - but the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 is more simple than most.
Overall, the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 is a superb photo printer - if your budget can stretch to it.

The print quality produced by the Epson Stylus Photo R2880 is superb, especially when it is combined with Epson photo papers. A3+ prints from the Stylus R2880 are extremely detailed, and even the subtlest colour changes are rendered smoothly and...
Because three different black inks can be used (light black, light-light black and photo black) tonal gradation is perfect in black and white prints. It's not the fastest printer, but the print quality surely makes up for the lack of speed.

Epson's Stylus Photo R2880 is an A3+ colour inkjet that features a number of improvements over its predecessor, the Stylus Photo R2400, to improve both colour and black and white output
We were very impressed with the R2880. The quality of its output, together with its ability to print on everything from DVDs to thick card, makes it an excellent choice for photographers who want to print colour and monochrome images up to A3+ in size

The Epson Stylus Photo R2880 printer offers high-quality A3 output using nine pigment-based inks.
The compact printer design - when closed it takes up very little desk space. Print colours are exceptionally good and vibrant. The new printer interface and Photoshop Print plug-in. Black and White printing
The small ink cartridges (11ml). Purging Black inks when swapping media types (Glossy to Matte and vice versa). PictBridge on an A3+ printer, not something a serious photographer would use. Roll media on an A3 printer

Hot on the heels of the mid-range R1900, Epson has launched a replacement for its flagship A3 photo printer, the R2400. We gave the R2880 a thorough testing to find out whether it's the perfect workhorse for advanced photographers.
We’re very impressed with this printer, but it’s not a clear-cut must-buy. The problem is not the R2880 itself, but the price of its sibling – the R1900. At around £200 less, the R1900 is such an attractive proposition, it’s a tough decision to choose...
