Easy to use, good clear pictures

Appears to only use dedicated paper/ink packs which are not readily available. I'm concerned that they may become obsolete

Canon Selphy CP780 review

By Susan Silvius (pcadvisor.co.uk)

The Canon Selphy CP780 snapshot photo printer has its problems - namely, mediocre speed and expensive, wasteful consumables. But its purchase price is very low and its design is simple, making it a good choice for light home use.

The Canon Selphy CP780 is a cheap and nearly idiot-proof snapshot printer. It would be our top pick if it were faster and cheaper per print.

Canon Selphy CP780

By Alistair Dabbs (reghardware.co.uk)

Producing your own 6x4 prints, mini cards and photo stickers can be fun, if you are prepared to pay extra for it and do all the work.

The one problem, and it is a big one, is that the prints are expensive. A basic refill pack of 24 photo cards and dye-sub roll cassette costs £15: that's 62p per print, not including the £129 price of the printer. Yet there is no denying the appeal of...

It has a good range of memory card slots and lots of on-printer options, but is also child's play to use for simple quick prints.

If you've ever taken a look at the Canon SELPHY CP740 or the SELPHY CP760 you will be familiar with the set-up and the operation of the new CP780. Capable of producing lab quality, postcard-sized prints, ...

The Canon Selphy CP780 is a high quality printer that's well priced and easy to use. Small enough to fit on a shelf, and with plenty of options for printing without being connected to a PC, it would make a perfect gift for a teenager. Quick to print...

With that in mind you're going to need to stock up on plenty of paper and ink. Unfortunately, we found it something of a challenge finding a stockist for SELPHY media.

Inexpensive ; Easy to use

Slow, kludgy paper-tray design ; Expensive, wasteful consumables

The purchase price is right, but use it lightly: it's slow, and its ink and paper are pricey.

Canon Selphy CP780 Compact Photo Printer

By (pcmag.com)

Like most dedicated photo printers, the CP780 can print from a memory card, a PictBridge camera, or a computer. Unlike many, it can't print from a USB key, which means you can't easily print an image you've already moved to your computer or an optical...

Reasonably fast. Low initial price and reasonably low cost per photo. Photos are water and scratch resistant

Photos show slight soft-focus effect. Lines on an angle (as with spokes on a bicycle wheel) can print with jagged edges

Although the Canon Selphy CP780 Compact Photo Printer is a step below the top tier of dedicated photo printers for photo quality, it's good enough for most casual photographers.

Review: Canon Selphy CP780 snapshot printer

By Susan Silvius (macworld.com)

The Selphy CP780 is an inexpensive and nearly idiot-proof snapshot printer, but you make major compromises in performance and price per page.

Aimed at the family market, the compact Selphy CP780 comes in three colors (blue, pink, or silver) and can function with or without a computer. A 2.5-inch color LCD and oversize, intuitively labeled control buttons take you through simple editing and...
