Overall printing is good, a is copying which shows no difference to the original copy being used

Rather fragile appearance and feel of the paper tray, giving the impression that it could have a relative short life ; Wating time before printing begins after telig the computer to print

Brother DCP-385C - Inkjet All-in-One

By Simon Williams (trustedreviews.com)

It has no networking ability, but it's cheap and it has a CompactFlash card slot.

We weren't too impressed with the DCP-375CW, because of various problems during testing and the lack of some pretty useful features. Although the DCP-385C reviewed here has no wireless connection, if you're happy to connect directly, you get a...

With its widescreen LCD display, full set of memory card slots and PictBridge, dual-media paper tray and higher capacity cartridges, in most ways it's much better value.

Brother DCP-385C

By Nilofar Hadjanadjiboudine (digitalversus.com)

The scanner gives good image quality. The colours tend slightly towards red, but are sharp and overall pretty accurate. But it is pretty slow on the initial preview, taking 12,75 seconds. A full scan of a 300 dpi 4x6” print only takes 11.10 seconds...

Easy of use / good ergonomics ; Low energy consumption ; Quality and speed sufficient for everyday use – although the competition is better

Overall quality a notch below ; Lines visible on photo prints ; Slow ; High cost per page ; Can’t take XL cartrides

The real plus point is this is a compact printer. For the rest: speed, precision and cost per page, it is down on the competition.

Canon takes 14 seconds and Epson 20. When it comes to the copier, a black and white copy takes 24.65 seconds and a colour copy less than 40 seconds.

This photo MFD is for home and office and the wide-screen LCD makes it look special

Good print quality in normal mode, fast print speeds in fast mode, decent scanner, decent looks, good price, good bundled software

Skewed text prints in fast mode, reddish hue in photo prints, no FAX

Manufacturer's Description

The DCP-385C integrates a range of functions, including color printing, copying and scanning, into a single, stylish and compact machine - saving space and easing workflow. With a 3.3'' widescreen color LCD, operating the machine is now a breeze. You can easily access copy and scan settings, and even preview, edit and enhance your photos at the touch of a button, without the use of a PC. Additionally, printing borderless photos directly from media cards, USB flash memory drives, or PictBridge compatible cameras is now possible by simply connecting them to the MFC, while the dedicated photo paper tray makes switching between 4R photo paper (4 x 6) and A4-sized paper fast and easy. DCP-385C is capable of fast print speeds of up to 30ppm for monochrome and 25ppm for color to help improve productivity and save time. Brother's Innobella ink and photo paper, combined with the print technology that enables droplet sizes as small as 1.5pl, give you rich, vibrant photos and professional-looking color documents. Furthermore, a 4-cartridge ink system helps lower running costs by replacing only the color cartridge that has run out. With all these great features and more, you'll always stay ahead with Brother at your side!
