Brother MFC-J4420DW

The Brother MFC-J4420DW is quite fast for an inkjet multifunction printer (MFP) at its price and can print at up to tabloid size, though its overall output quality could be better.

Fast. Prints on single sheets at up to tabloid (11-by-17-inch) size. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct.

Slightly subpar output across the board. Tabloid-size printing limited to feeding individual sheets. Limited paper capacity. Lacks Ethernet connectivity. No memory card slot.

Easy setup.

Have not tried printing wirelessly yet. Goes to a standby mode and does not turn off when the attached pc is powered down. Waiting to see how often ink has to be replaced.

Set up was simple for USB. Instructions were basic for anyone that has ever used a pc. Only had this printer for 4 days so far but all functions appear to be working as intended.

Larger footprint than the HP Inkjet it replaced. This printer has the most additional software beyond drivers to install that I have ever encountered. Had to turn off a lot of un-necessary clutter in preferences.
