Red Dead Redemption

This open-world Western is more than just Grand Theft Auto on horseback.

Red Dead Redemption

Howdy Partner! Ya like Grand Theft Auto Games? I reckon you'll love RockStar Games new twist on the open ended sandbox genre with Red Dead Redemption.

If you haven't played Red Dead Redemption yet, I highly recommend it. It's a great experience from start to finish; one I know I won't certainly forget for a long time. At least until L.A. Noire is released or GTAV.

Red Dead Redemption PS3 Review

Rockstar Games is undoubtedly one of the most widely recognisable developers with a reputation for controversial sandbox titles. Despite the media storm that usually follows every release, their games never fail to perform incredibly well, both...

Astonishing game environment ; Involving and deep story ; Huge replay value ; Excellent range of multiplayer content

Some glitches after prolonged game sessions ; Similar to Grand Theft Auto series

Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360, PS3) review

The year is 1911 and a former outlaw is forced to pick up his guns once more to save his family. You are John Marston, welcome to Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar has stepped away from its iconic and controversial Grand Theft Auto series for a...

For me it is a shame that plot did not match the technical qualities exhibited by Rockstar, but for many this may well not be an issue. If you like the idea of a sandbox western then this is money well spent. In what other game can you earn a...

Red Dead Redemption

Rockstar reminds us of why they are the crown holders of open-world, sandbox games.

In conclusion, RDR is a title that must be experienced by everyone who has a decent taste in games. Nothing about it feels incomplete. Bar a very few minor glitches, it's perfect in almost every way. Rockstar San Diego can easily make a sequel to RDR...

Red Dead Redemption

Games Xtreme goes with John Marston in search of some redemption, riding the open plains of the Old Dying West and living the cowboy's dream in Rockstar's pinnacle achievement: Red Dead Redemption.

Buy this game now; seriously, it’s one of the best games on both the PS3 and 360. There’s no equal, forget Call of Duty. This is where it's at for now and the foreseeable future.

Jim Kitses, in the opening pages of his influential study on the Western ‘Horizons West', argued that the genre, one of the great American creations, was as important a creative force as the famous filmmakers – the likes of Ford, Eastwood and Peckinpah...

Red Dead Redemption (2010)

Welcome to the Wild West; Rockstar’s Wild West, a peerless fusion of Grand Theft Auto’s astonishingly engrossing open-world sensibilities and Western-centric cinematic set-pieces. Unfurling at the turn of the 20th century, Red Dead casts you as...

Red Dead Redemption

So yes, the action rocks bells. But I still can't help but feel that for me, it's the less familiar elements that help to make Red Dead Redemption the best game of 2010 thus far.

Since 2008, GTA IV’s Liberty City has been the high water mark for sandbox game environments. The combined plains of Red Dead Redemption’s New Austin and Mexico form a very different world, but there’s no denying that they trump their urban predecessor...
